Hmmm seems to sound about where it should be but i haven't heard anything leaked from mazda yet in terms of pricing. So I am not sure how true this pricing is

This info was posted already in another thread here but I'm not going to post it as "NEWS" until it's CONFIRMED. ;)

* Moved to the MS3 forum since it's not technically news yet...

So is the final price for the sport 22,800 and 24,555 for the GT without the navi?

Still trying to confirm this, I just called "the little bird" :D

Confirmation from another dealer rep on another forum (I think the sales pitch at the end lends it credibility):

Aviboy, are you confirming these are the base MSRPs sent to dealers or just that they seem about right?

yes what, it wasn't a yes or no question.

True, but if it was approximate, you think he would say so, instead he gives exact numbers.

I'd wait for least next june to buy one, the prices will fall i bet when the brand new wrx debuts at the NY autoshow in may next year. 250+ hp and awd with about 25k, the bar will be raised.

I feel as if the bar will be raised for a long ass time with the MS3...The WRX is old news in the states now...

LOL! Sorry Antoine, but I think the MS3 has set the bar for FWD, but not AWD. The WRX will never be old news. The 08 will be even better.

True...but in terms of performance...I'd like to see a 08 wrx take on the MS3...showdown style...autox, 1/4, top speed, braking etc...I never considered the standard WRX that impressive (the STI is another story).

The MS3 is the 1st Mazdaspeed Mazda to combine uber handling ability with REAL POWER...Not to mention it's quite light AND has the ability to successfully put that power to the ground.

So, lets see in Canadian funds.

My 03.5 MSP was 28,595 with freight. In the US think it was 20,500? Lets say 21000.

So if the MS3 loaded is 3 grand US more then the MSP was, we are looking at around 4000-4500 Canadian more which sticks us at 32, 595 or 33k. Which is about where I've guessed all along.

Now, add in the fact that it's the new super cool thing to own, and expect lease rates of about 5.9-6.9% No money down, and your lease payment will be about 550-600/month. don't want to lease? well expect upwards of 700+ for a "cute hatchback". good luck selling your lease a year or two down the road for that kind of money when nobody is going to know why you are asking so much for a "Mazda 3 hatch".......as nobody ever knows what a mazdaspeed is. trust me, I've been through this 3 times now.

......I'd wait till next year to get one at 1.9%, and a payment of less then 475. That won't be hard because the cars proboably won't get here until the snow is about to hit the ground, they'll sit in the showroom until the spring which makes them an old 07' model and dealers will want to get rid of them before the 08's get there.

another thing. Expect 17" winter tires folks.

Mazda itself is Madaspeeds worse enemy.

1. The Mazdspeeds are never advertised which hurts sales, and re-sales.
2. They always release them just before the snow hits. Who wants to buy a 250+hp fwd with snow on the ground? even worse when you'll need 17" rims for winter use. so they end up sticking in show rooms all winter.

Glad I'm in TX where none of those negatives apply.
