Maybe, depending on how slow the course is, you may be able to do it in third (the ratios are very close). It hits the rev limiter really quick in first and second, so third may be your only choice. The shift linkage is really bad and I found going from third to second really awful, I kept going into 4th or missing the cog altogether

They do state that Mazda claims 263 bhp, 280 lb-ft torque, 0-60 under 6 seconds, and a top speed of 155 mph.

What they said in SCC was well bellow 6 second range which i am thinking low 5s maybe 5.3, 5.4 or 5.5 . But why is the car so heavy?? Even SCC said the samething. It weighs in over 3100#s

I believe that SCC just regurgitated what they were told by Mazda, SCC did not appear to test the car. Motor Trend estimated it
Actually, I wasn't suggesting that it was in the 6's, I was stating fact. ;)

Evo's weight about 3260, STi's 3298, Mustang GT 3483, SRT-4 Neon 2970. My Mustang tips the scales at about 3500 or so the last time I weighed it. 3100#'s is still relatively light, especially with that kind of power. You guys are looking at added frame and chassy bracing, thicker sway bars, thicker half shafts, LSD... bigger brake rotors, 18's,a slightly different interrior and a turbo system on a forged internals motor. All that stuff add's up to extra weight, aside from the 18's, I'd say it's necessary

Yes that is true but the evo and the sti both have AWD and the mustang isnt a unibody.. and the srt4 is about 200# lighter than the speed3.

All I'm saying is it's relative. Mazda cant even get thier power ratings right. One page says 263, another says 274 hp when you build one. 200 lbs less or not, it's still a neon, lol
