Hey everyone just picked up a MS3 ( Cosmic Blue) on Saturday 18th. Saw this site and had to be a part of it. I love this car already. I cant wait till the break in period is over so I can really have some fun with it. I do know cars but not turbo ones. So I will be learning a lot from yous.lol.Pleasure to be here!!!

Welcome to the forum family - post pics soon!

I couldnt wait. I wanted the blue but the dealer only had silver and red on the lot.

Its REALLY hard to drive nicely for the break in... ive already cracked 100 twice.. too much fun.

How long is the break in period supposed to be cause I've been at the 150+ mark a couple times already just under 3000 miles. Haven't really taken it on a hard run through any twisties yet though.

500-1000 miles. You should be fine. (shocked)

Ok it was after 500 I think oh well the second time was at around 2000. What you guys thought I was gonna take Road and Tracks work on it. Phhh Whatever!:)

With some good climate and a good driver they can probablly break into 13's. I don't feel like flat shifting through the 1/4 and blowing my clutch so I'll keep it on the street. As for the 10 it didn't take them long to get these out on the track did it.

I've never raced with a standard before. I raced my auto p5 so I really have to learn. I read somewhere that you shift around 6k rpms up till 4th and ride it out.

What do you launch at?

I don't really like drag racing so I couldn't tell you, I know that a low rpm launch probablly works best with these because of the traction control and that shifting around 6k is good because the computer retards the boost so it won't give maximum torque in first and second, after that let it rip I guess. I had fun in a couple highway bouts but thats about it. I did get on it early today for the first time from a dead start. I didn't launch it but powering through first and second was enjoyable. The diff feels great it's that damn waistgate managment system that is going to have to go some how. I can't wait till some company makes something to get rid of it. But in the meantime it'll save tires!

simple solution to let u launch faster and to avoid that nasty wheel hop --> DSC - OFF! (first)

haha ive played around with DSC off on a few back roads, very fun and feels much faster out of first and second. I would def reccomend turning that off if you head to the track.
