MS3 limited-slip differential type (and synthetic gear lube)

Hmm, don't know why I don't get reply notices from this forum. Have to check settings.

I really didn't notice any difference in smoothness when I changed fluid. It's been a while, and no ill effects, though. The diff performed well on the track.

From the information that I could gather, the stock fluid does not have a friction modifier. Some other people have used the Royal Purple fluid, which does, but I haven't heard of any problems with that either. Seems like a slipperier fluid would reduce lsd effect, but I don't know. Anyway, MT90 seems like the safest bet.

its actually just the opposite. the friction modifier will improve the function of a LSD. the problem is that it is not good for the synchros. if those who use the RP fluid drive their car hard enough, long enough, i'm sure they will beging to feel their gears grinding. anything with friction modifiers in never a good idea in a FWD transaxle.

I didnt notice much of a change when i did my car with MT-90. I did it around 1000 miles. I also didnt notice any noise or chatter after the change.
