Think about its this way: The mazdaspeed6, while AWD, has an extra 400 pounds to run around with. Its the same engine, I assume tuned no differently, as the mazdaspeed3. You're probably going to lose more power through the transmission than on the speed3.

Here's my current plan for anyone still interested .

I will go back to the first dealership and offer then 2k less than MSRP for the blue sport. I might be able to swing that because it had a scratch on one panel (which they will re-paint), and its essentially last years model with 08's coming next month. I'm sure they won't like that offer, but I see it as a year old used (body damage) car. It might work, it might not. If they don't bite, then I'll wait for the 08's.

My only concern is the body damage, and their ability to fix it. Its a two inch scratch on the bottom of the panel behind the back door. Should I be concerned about that?

That sounds like a good starting point considering the paint scratch. I am running into problems with dealers here in AZ as there are only 4 07's that I can find left in the state, so the dealers just wont deal in them...but they have been willing to deal on the 08's (go figure). So far they are 600.00 under base MSRP on a sport and still dealing. Good luck to you!
