Ajburr... Thanks for the post! It's great to hear these reassuring words from a fellow Minnesotan.
I went to a local dealer today and test drove a red MS3 (not my first color choice, but it was the only one in their inventory) and a white 2010 Mazda3 sedan. The sedan had surprising get-up-and-go, but the Speed was no contest (for obvious reasons). The salesman reassured me that winter wheels was a necessity for the Speed, so it looks like I got some good advice here!
