it just said a forged crank, no others. the compact dodges are throw away cars, so i wasn't surprised in the least.
forged rods as well it says. it didn't say anything about pistons though, which is where the weak link is gonna show up. they'll be the first to go after boost greed kicks in and someone destroys some ringlands.
the article wasn't bad. for the first 2/3rds of the article, you think they are actually gonna like the CSRT4, until they stop talking about straight line numbers.
i already called it would be the same as the neon, a plastic-laden base model econobox with a big motor and some brakes/wheels. it doesn't look half bad in black because you don't see all the plastic outside. any other color is gonna give away the cheapness.
interior doesn't look bad, but the photos once again don't show the plastic everywhere. i might have missed it, but the boost gauge looks to be blocking an a/c vent and i don't see one on the passenger side...so that leaves only 2 in the middle? seriously???? i enjoy having my side vents available and not having it force all the air out the center ones.
in the slideshow, the built in G-tech deal looked neat, til i read it was about as accurate as "playing darts in the dark" (guy's exact words). no s*** they're going to inflate the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, or else people would be taking them back to the dealer to go get an MS3
i agree with the writer, seriously why can't dodge make an avenger srt-4? i could guarantee it would sell loads better than anything else. first the neon? ugh love/hate, looks like crap...now this abortion of a pt cruiser on steroids? i guess dodge gets off on trying to stuff power into ugly ass cars. and if they're going for the sleeper effect, they're not doing a very good job with all the flashy wings and hood vents.
