MS CAI and FMIC?

I just installed the MS CAI and I cannot stop grinning! It's freaking awesome!

Anyway.. I'm looking into my next mod. Can the BEGI (or whatever it is) FMIC fit with this intake installed? If not, what are my FMIC options (if any?)

Sorry if this is a repost, I couldnt find this exact answer in search- maybe it's there, who knows.

Thanks!

I say wait...

CPE is coming out with their FMIC that will work with their intake (about the same lines as the MS CAI) so you should have no issues there.

Cobb is also coming out with a FMIC, but God knows when that will come out. Probably in the next 3-4 years...lol

corksport is also coming out with one also!

yeah, but their design was ... (RTM) (yupnope)

Last i heard about it was 3-4 months ago, and they put the BOV flange on the WRONG side. They put it on the hott side pipe instead of the cold side pipe. After those few pics that showed up online, nothin was ever seen again.

If i didn't already make my own, i would only trust CPE and Cobb

Alright... I'm not buying one tmrw or anything. I'm just getting an idea of something to do in the future (Christmas or so) so I was wondering if it would fit... Most likely I will wait until there is a GB or someone's introductory offer or something...

i believe both the CPE and Cobb FMIC will Fit with the mazdaspeed3 cold air intake!

Yea, I figured that by your first post. I appreciate the clarification... I'll wait for the CP-E one most likely... but I hope it isnt $1200 like the MSP6's!

i say screw the FMIC unless your going to go with a bigger turbo. and also if you go to big of a IC your gains wont be as great as a smaller one. dont ask me to explain it. something about the amount of air running through it...like if you had a huge air intake pipe vs one that will give the right amount of air flow or something. wow...im a tech cant you tell? but the 3" TMIC should give you the sweetest gains and IMO looks better. makes the engine look BA. or as Dane Cook would say, BAMF.

read closely.

Due out 12/07

Same Time as CPE and Cobb most likely.

Secondly, I don't trust ATP Turbo all too well. I just got 2 DP Flanges from them and they hacked them up. Secondly, they were working on a DP option for the MS3 about 3 weeks ago and they couldn't figure out a good flange/dp option.

My trust belongs to CPE since the MS6 and MS3 is what they specialize in.

Rule of thumb IMO about IC's. Fit the largest, lowest pressure drop IC that you can physically fit under the hood.

There is no such thing as too large unless your adding a bus IC to your MS3. Even then the lag would be a bit more but due to the minimal pressure drop of the iC you would make more power.
