MPI Tuner questions...

Hey wazzup everyone. I should be purchasing the MPI Tuner with the extra injectors when my tax return comes in and I just have a couple of questions.

One, if I run the MPI with the injector upgrade, I was told by MPNick that the safe psi range is 12psi. I want to know if anyone runs a higher psi than that on the stock motor?

Also, if someone runs higher than 12psi on the stock motor with the MPI, would you be able to send me your map configurations so I could download it?
 
In about two weeks, I will install a front mount intercooler and a custom 3" turbo back exhaust; don't pay much attention to the current mod signature.

Thats definitely the direction your headed. This motor screams I NEED AT LEAST RODS.

Just trying to be helpful. 12psi MPI Tuned with bolt-ons will give you more than enough power to hold you over. You shouldn't already be thinkin about goin over that once you get it.

Keep in mind s*** will break eventually, not right away hopefully but eventually...clutch,trans, especially with the added boost.
 
ya man seriously you have got to be careful 12psi with bolt on's is gunna b a mighty quick car if you do not do forged goodies there is no way your going 2 run like 14psi safely you motor is bound to s*** the bed sooner rather than later. Trust me i had a Toyota MR2 Turbo at one point you have to learn to be able to manage your boost safely and not get so boost hungry or else well i bet you can guess the rest. The car is what it is if you want a straight line car that is fast and can handle a lot of boost get a WRX or SRT-4. If you wanna have a reasonably quick car (12psi = quick car) that will corner like no other fwd vehicle and is a blast to drive you have made the right choice. Im not trying to be an assshole here man i just don't want you to ruin your motor be careful man except the car for what it is you can make it a really nice car the things you are doing are awesome but just keep it tuned at 12PSI with the bigger injectors don't try to do anything more I would hate to hear a zoom zoom boom story coming at the end of all of this. Don't worry, from your replies, I plan to run at 12psi with the MPI...until I purchase the forged short block; then I will get boost crazy.

There you go bro I am happy to hear that I wasn't trying 2 b a prick either man just trying to talk some sense into ya lol haha but good decision (thumb)
 
with all the required supporting mods :FMIC, turob back catless exhaust, 94+ octane etc you can run 12. hell we have a thread about running 12s in the QM on stock motor, but you are taking the motors life into your own hands. just remember every motor blows up eventually, its just a matter of how long you can get it to stay together. To keep it together you need a turbo system that is improved in every aspect. EX: Ive got almost 100,000KM of hard driving on my MSP and it runs like a champ, others try boosting 8psi without many IMPORTANT mods and blow the motor. then you see guys like blkzoomzoom making 200 QM passes on the stock motor running 13.1without an EMS, intercooler etc.

If I were you id tune 10psi and then decide whats important to you.in short if you wanna boost 12 just make sure you have the supporting mods.

Good tune with theMpi and well over a year of 11 12 psi . Make sure to have mods though exhaust,fmic and good tune and i think it will hold up pretty good if you dont beat on it daily. Time will tell .
 
Hey bro I am doing the same thing, kinda. I am putting a MSP manifold and turbo on my MP3 this weekend with the mpi on sunday. I did't get the extra injectors though. BUt I have a 3" apex catless dp and 3" apex exhaust with fmic and manuel boost controller and I think I will run 10 psi if I can figure out the mpi, the instructions look like chinese to me.
 
Are these good SUPPORTING mods? Anything else to run 10 psi?
 
Get motor mounts as well or you might launch the car with that much power and break your LSD.
