MPI Tuner Anyone?

Ok, I don't have time to look back thru the whole thread right now, but can the MPI Tunner drive injectors directly? I have a feeling they can.
Only in batch mode. You will use that driver to contorl the extra ones, if you use them.

Yeah but I think the MPI clamp is full time, not triggered and it also clamps the CTS.

A fast solution is to disconect the AIT and/or the coolant sensor. This way it will run very pig rich, or...do not boost in low rpms.
The Turbo Module is not full time at all. You program the turbo module to come on under boost. I set it to come on at about 2-3 psi. You can set it to come on at any poiny but I find the 2-3 psi is the best stop.

Thanks again

We tested 550cc on the MSP. They did not like to idle good. Not sure if your 460 will be the way to go. Is anyone running big injectors on the Protege without having problems?

The best way to go is the extra injectors for big boost.

Thanks again

That's pretty cool I would love to test out the 460's on my car. So I can drive the stock injectors directly in the meantime until I decide to run the extras, right?

Thanks! Sorry for all the questions. I've been reading on the PRS8 unti for so long now, that I don't have all the answers on top right now on the MPI Tuner.

You will be very happy w/ the MPI tuner..i know for sure...and you won't be the only one w/ the mpi & forged inernals!

:p

Alright, so I actually have read most of these pages, as well as the other full stand-alone and piggy-back threads out there. I am trying to compare prices and features. I am just like that, I do my homework thoroughly. I keep seeing that I not only need a full stand-alone now for proper control of the air/fuel/timing (if possible with the unit in question). I also need to run extra injectors, and/or larger injectors. So, now...if we are talking $795 for this setup, how much extra are we talking in larger/extra injectors, and how difficult is this going to be to set up properly. Realize this is my first FI car. Technically I had a winter beater that was a Probe GT turbo, but I drove it for a few months when I still lived in MI and didn't want to drive my show car in the snow. Then I sold it to move to sunny Cali, where I didn't need it. I wouldn't know how to properly tune all this stuff, nor install an extra set of injectors. This is getting to be a pain. Can you please include the extra options and features you are offering, so I can research and compare. Thank you! I really need to get control of this car...

How much boost do you need to run? The extra injector in the throttle body for the MPI is only needed for certain applications, depending on the turbo, and psi used... I you're only doing 7-8psi on a T3 or something, it won't be needed.

The extra injectors are a great option to have, IMO. Cheaper to get and pretty easy to install, you have someone weld the plate on the IC pipe and that's it. Tuning them is very easy, add numbers for more fuel, take numbers away for less fuel. You use the Stock ECU and injectors for normal, non-boost, driving and the extra ones come on when you hit boost. No rough idle or starts. You have to decide how much you want to run before you can decide. If you only want 5psi, then you don't need them, but if you want 8psi plus, then you would. Another bonus to them is that the fuel into the charge air will cool the air down a little while richening the mixture.

Yeah..also..you can adjust the timing before boost..so you can help the turbo spool up faster also it makes it peppy to drive out of boost. I am controlling stock injectors and going to be raisin upto 7psi..and see how much the stock injectors can handle! I will also be addin the inline fuel pump to boost pressure!
