MPI Tuner Anyone?

Yes but the base maps on the AEM can be much more precisely tuned. And the wiring is very clean. I know that the mpi tuner is fine for basic duties but the AEM is entirely more advanced. Enough.. Perf is about to demonstrate it soon.. I have seen it working ... u have not. then we will see.
You are talking about two things here. First off what is the deal with wiring? The AEM is a PnP, is it not? There is not any wiring with the other AEM PnP units.

You need to be 1005 spot on with the AEM because it is a standalone system. This is why you have more room for tuning, it does not know any better. With the MPI Tuner we can use the factory stock maps for idle, cold starting, A/C load and other things like this. The MPI Tuner is a piggyback, it works with the stock computer to get you the numbers it needs. With the AEM you have a blank sheet. You need to do everything, you have no OEM program to help you out. You people have been mislead about a lot of things with standalones. How hard they are to tune and why they cannot be pretuned to work out of the box. You will see in time what real life will be like with a standalone.

Thanks again

Car runs 100% perfect off boost. usually stays in close loop while off boost and afr reads 14.7 majority of the time off boost. Yes im using extra injectors.

I got 24mpg all city driving, last fill at 12psi.
last trip i took i got 32 mpg on the highway, boosting occasionally. I contribute this to the WB, during long trips i try and keep the AFR steady at 14.7 to achieve maxium mpg, except when boosting or climbing hills.

I mentioned to akilleis about my problems i had with the ECU pulling fuel in the begining. I also mentioned to him "I personally" wouldnt run the unit without a wideband, b/c of the changes i had. No one else seem to have these issue, kooldino had some issue, but mine seemed to pull more fuel then his did.

The AF display bounces around so much with the tuner software, i dont look at it. I will check it out for differences and data log next time i tune. Maybe this weekend if it is nice out

its unfortunte it takes so much time tuning this "unit".. maybe if it had been properly designed orginally it wouldnt have been such a problem
If you really think that the AEM is going to have zero problems on everybody's car here, with zero people posting "damn, I can't start my car" or "I've had to send in my maps X times to get it perfected", well, sir, please pass me tha s*** you've been smoking, because I want some!

well we will see... very soon actually. However considering AEM sponsored the project i believe it is guaranteed to have less bugs and issues than the mpi... But as has been said... we wont know till its debut.. which will be soon.. and if u still want a head to head comparison mpnick i am sure it can be worked out... although u might regret it... u will hear no more from me until then.

I you like the info that you have been told, good for you. I think you do not know as much as you think you do. If you did you would not be here everyday posting your BS. Go back to the Neverland thread about things that you cannot get. Stay off of this thread.

Thanks again

This forum was made to be an informative forum where people can see what kind of engine management systems are out there or are going to be released for our cars. Please, if you have a problem with the MPI Tuner or how well it works on our cars maybe you should PM MPNick and talk it out with him there. I have let this kind of behavior go on too long hoping that it would stop. But obviously it didn't. Bottom line, if you don't have anything constructive to say about the particular product, expecially if you don't even have any experiance with the particular product then please either don't post! You are doing more harm to the community then good by bickering and getting into a pissing match. Thank you for your time and please play nicely. :D

OK guys, all of the parts are in for the new turbo module. I will be building them asap. I hope to have the last of them ready to ship on Monday.

Thanks again

Is the O2 and CLTS Clamp really needed for the Additional Injector Setup? Or can I still Use the FM O2 Clamp?

Great news, I will be installing the MPI by the next 2 weeks, doing some custom Intake Manifold like this one:

I would install or turbo module. It will help you tune your car faster and better.

Thank again

Very cool, what is your target hp with that intake?

Thanks again

I dont know, somebody told me that if I keep the runners short, torque will drop.
Thats the idea, I dont want too much torque anymore.

Is that a second gen?

i have a quick question about the extra injector setup... doesnt it create carbon deposits since the fuel isnt effectively atomized?

How do you know it isn't effectively atomized?
(Note: I'm not saying I know, I'm asking. . .since I doubt that either one of us is an automotive engineer specializing in fuel delivery.)

i have heard that when delivered through the TB fuel can be spread about the IM and may not always completely atomize with the intake charge. This can build up into deposits eventually. However i have not seen an IM in person that was running this setup and that had carbon buildup. But supposdly the structure of our IM may lend itself to this more easily. This is just information i came across.

that could happen if the Injector is not well managed (Ie. too big for the base pressure or just pushing tons of fuel).
This piggy will control the injector, not just open or close it, it will be controlled!

And by the way, im installing them on the Intake Manifold, a few inches further than the stock injectors
