MPG Avg for 2,614 Mi.

So far with my wife driving daily approx. 50/50 city/hwy she's getting right around 20mpg. We did a lot of highway driving last week and filled it up and got 23mpg probably 90% highway (and horrible Kansas winds). I really wish we could get like 30mpg and I would drive this car everywhere, I love it! But with only low 20's and a 37mpg Civic in the garage I feel compelled to take it unless we need the capacity of the CX-7.

wow, that's not good! i was looking into a cx7 for my wife...she thinks the explorers mileage is bad and we get 18-21, on average

Well don't just look at mine. I'm one of the group that is getting terrible gas mileage while others are getting 18+. I am a very conservative driver, but it doesn't matter with this car.

the big thing is if you jump on the highway the gas milage goes up big time b ut for somone to say they are all city stop and go and getting 20 + miles per gallon there is no way

good mileage

I've filled up twice since I bought my 2007 Sport couple weeks ago. Both times I got 22mpg. I drive mostly city (5-7 miles trips mostly). Can't be happier and hope it stays or improves.

At about 2500 miles my mileage still sucks. I get a pretty constant 17mph city driving.

I took a 350 mile trip all freeway a week ago and only got 20 mpg :(

i honestly think it has something to do with the updates to the vehicle. I noticed after i got the updates done that it shifted differnetly. I think if you dont get it done then you may get better gas mileage compared to if you do get the updates done. It seemed to me before I traded it in that it really wanted to stay above 2k all the time and that sucked the tank dry - but I dont think anyone has figure out why some get good gas mileage and others get bad mileage, it is all speculation - i am one of those that didnt want to put up with it

My AWD CX-7 has just over 20,000 kilometers or 12,500 miles.

Filled up yesterday with premium (that's all I use) and calculated my fuel economy at 15 L per 100 KM or 15 MPG.

That means I travelled about 415 KM or 257 miles on a tank.

I don't drive aggressively but do a lot of city driving.

Ouch.

The city driving will do that. Stop light to stop light, you burn much more gas. The best mileage I've ever got was over 23 mpg and that was when I took a long weekend trip. All highway...

I just filled up again and my mileage average for ~ 4,000 miles is 20.57 mpg with a SD of 0.55. This is Suburban driving with stop & go interspersed with 1/2 mile 45 mph stretches. I drive easy but not grandpa like. I do a steady throttle and let the AT shift at ~ 2300 rpm rather than push it and then let off when I get to the speed I want. If you constantly get into the 2500 + rpm then I expect lower numbers.
