It's time to trade in the Mazda 3 which has been our Winter Daily Driver since 2009.

Been a fantastic car and the CX5 looks too good and very well priced.

We are in Canada so it's down to two options

GX with Comfort Package, 6 MT FWD
or
GS 6ATX FWD

There is a +$4000 difference.

The GS Adds Automatic Trans, Sunroof, Better Stereo, Better Rear Seats, Better Quality Fabric at the cost of the 6 MT which I think I would miss.

Any Feedback from you the Owners of the CX5?

Well there's a bit more than that... heated seats, backup camera, 40/20/40 split, blindspot monitoring to name a few.

considering your Protege5 has all the performance anyone could possible want, i would get the GS and enjoy the "luxury". the auto-tranny still has a manual mode, which could still be used to inject a little fun into the drive.

I tend to agree, the automatic suits the luxury nature of the loaded SUV. The manual mode is best in this class of vehicles, very BMW-like.

I also have other sport sedans that are much quicker for weekend use.

It's been decided, I am getting the GS for one main reason...

The cloth seats in the GX are GARBAGE.

I don't think I will miss the Manual Trans as much as I would miss the nicer seats with the heating element.
