Well, I own three cars. 2003.5 MP5, 2000 Integra GSR, and a 1989 CRX Si. By far, the CRX has the most character. The Integra is much faster than any of them in a straight line. Integra handles like crap. MP5 handles better out of the box than the CRX. But, not by much. And remember, the CRX I am using as a comparison has 213,000 miles on it. We will see how the MP5 does with those kind of miles.
A CRX with a moderately tuned B18c5 will be faster than anything Mazda has out right now, including the RX8.
I love all my cars. Each has its own little quirks and each has a place in my heart. But if I had a chance at a brand new CRX in factory condition, I would sell the Integra and the Mazda to get it.
In factory form, my CRX is faster than my MP5. Close race though. But the CRX feels faster and I have never thought that the CRX is sluggish in second like I think everytime I shift from the quick first gear in the MP5 to the slow second gear.
And by the way, there is a CRX out there with a rear mounted NSX engine. Not sure where but it is on the net, I have seen the write up on it. Cannot see the thinking behind it, with the chasis mods and all.
Enjoy the rest of the debate. But before you guys get your undies in a bunch, try driving the car you are arguing against first. You might just be surprised. sh*tbox, it is not.
