MP3 CD changer question

So it looks like I might be able to get a good deal on the MP3 CD changer genuine mazda stereo. I have the non-bose system. I was going to switch them out. One question is that it says it is for my model but "with driver information installed" I dont think my model has this. I have read the threads on activating that so does it not matter for compatability? The mazda site does list two different versions with different serial numbers. Thanks to anyone who might reply.

be VERY careful buying a used system... it is VERY easy to get the wrong thing/scammed!

usually, you can ignore what the faceplate says as the guts is what matters

there's a guy on the toronto mazda3 board that got eGayed lately because of this


if you have an 04-05, there are NO MP3 CD changers for that car, don't believe anything anyone tells you about that.... the only MP3 capable unit is a single disc MP3 player, and that is completely optional... it never came from the factory that way... you can only confirm that it's legit by physically disassembling the CD player module from the entire head unit (very easy, takes only 5 mins) and looking at the part number label

only 06-09s have MP3 CD changers available... you can get the one with the driver information thing and you will come out ahead... you will get the trip computer even if your car didn't by pressing those certain buttons talked about around here

It looks legit, mine is a 2007 i 4 door. Looks like it should work. Let me know if you disagree. Thanks.
