MP3 axle back...

Theres an aftermarket racing beat catback for 449.95 from protege garage. If you want just the axleback portion, search the FS section or post a WTB thread as I know of no place that sells just the axleback. What exhaust do you currently have? There might be a fitment issuse with the aftermarket catback version on the mp3 cuz I ordered one and the tip is 1"-1 1/4" too short. Racing beat told me the catback was not designed to fit the mp3. Might be better off finding a stock mp3 racing beat axleback

Well, I have the racing beat on mine but I was thinking of maybe switching it. Not sure though. If I do switch, i'll have to get rid of mine.

The only way you are probably going to get the axle-back portion only is luck...I don't know if you can find one anywhere new but you can try.
It was a dealer accessory called the Sport Exhaust, not to be confused with the
Mazdaspeed Axle-back.
The Sport Exhaust was made by Racing Beat.

Racing Beat made the axle-back from the MP3, if you have a racing beat exhaust, why do you want that axle-back?

Just thought about putting a different exhaust.. I like mine but I wish it was a bit deeper..

I'm pretty sure the Sport Exhaust is the same as the round tip MS Axleback. It was made by Borla but it said Mazdaspeed on the tip, so it was referred to as the MS Axleback.

The Racing Beat sport exhaust for the regular Protege and Protege5 was only made as a full catback, and had a dual-wall and single wall oval tip instead. It was also branded as a Racing Beat exhaust, not Mazdaspeed.

Then there is the 03.5 MSP axleback which is also made by Racing Beat but branded as a Mazdaspeed muffler.. so you can see how this can get really confusing lol.

I bet you'd like my Magnaflow a lot. It's just an axleback and adds a nice growl to the engine. Not loud at all, and also doesn't drone on the highway one bit. It's in the FS section, let me know if you're interested.
