Aloha, Im Pineapple from Las Vegas. Planning to move back home in two three years. But I need to know if i have to recon my car if i move back. My friends told me I have to put everything in stock, if i move back, but i have no original parts or know someone who can recon my car. No luck, I've asked my cousins and they don't know anyone. If anyone knows someone please let me know and how much they want, cuz i love my car and I dont want to leave it behind. here is a picture of her.

The only thing you need for Recon would be for those rims and drop! But you also need to have legal 35% tint and no stickers on the window.Other then that it looks all good to me! And look at my car it got Recon=)

Why did you car get Recon? Also do u mean 35% tint front two window or all the way around. Also the my rims came with my car along with the exhuast and cold air. Do i have to get stock parts for them? Also cool ride, i voted for yours. ALso i will miss my stickers, the store that made those are no longer around. And how much did your custom plates cost you. I voted for our ride. 26 votes buddy
 
All those mods that came with the car will pass for Recon. Got Recon for most of major mods listed in the MOTM such rims,intake,headers,drop,bodykit,etc....As for the custom plates its $25 annually added to your registration. Oh, yeah the 35% tint all around(no can the front window) Also there is thread about the Recon Law if you want read up more on it.

The above link will answer a lot of your questions.

It's non-OEM rims and you are lowered...you should get the reconstruction permit or face tickects and nice fines if caught by the PD. Especially watch out for the tint because they will nail you for each illegal window. It is 35% all around including the 2" on the top of your front windshield.

When applying for the permit, it's suggested you list every modification on your car...including your CAI. (Make sure all modifications you do are legal according to their standards or they will fail you) You must have current safety check sticker and paper. If you cannot pass safety, you will need to get a temporary safety check pending your reconstruction permit approval. Once you get the permit, you may go back to the safety check inspection station and obtain your approved safety check sticker and papers.

There is only one location to obtain the reconstruction permit. It is by appointment only. I beileve they are booked for a month.

I forgot how much the custom license plates are. Was it $25 per year? Efren knows. If you get that other type w/ the American Flag, Charity, etc. be sure to put on the sticker they give you because you can get a ticket for defacing the license plate if so.

thanks for your help Evade and BeNegative. Also all mod that came with the car was short shifter, injen cold car, lower by the factor, mangaflow exhaust, and the rims that you see. i us to work at Volkswagen and the guy who had it had kids on the way and wife couldnt drive stick. So i picked it up. Only thing i did was slotted rotors and hawk brakes. I can say i have two or three years until i get to hawaii. I might sell my parts or not and pick up a car when i get there and start from scratch. I guess recon will the only thing i hate when i move back home. Fuckkk

shouldn't be to hard to get recon. Safety sticker is possible. But like you said it'll be years till you come back home. Until then. Aloha.
 
thxs 808P5, also i thinking trading my car and picking up New MS3 or just another mazda3 and just send it, to hawaii while its stock and not register here. Dunno still thinking. ANd how much are gas prices over there. Over here regular gas is $3.59. and Supreme gas is like $3.89
 
its about 30cents higher. I've seen cheveron at $3.94/gallon for 92octane. A mazdaspeed3 would be the best pineapple to pick :)
 
**** 808MP5 went throw alot, dude i have factory HID so im cool right. Also i replaced my rear engine mount. Dunno if they will look at that
 
This alignment inspection isn't gonna pass recon is it?

Ill be alright, Im planning to transfer from costco which i work at to costco over there. I know costco in hawaii is always busy. Also i have a lot of relatives which i can stay at for time being
 
Naw there white from the factory. 808MP5 where are you from, since u have to recon your car. I just have to recon my car just once right if i pass when i move to hawaii. Or is this recon this every once a year type of deal
