yeah, you just trade in your car with any mods and not have Recon. Funny thing is that if you buy a car from the dealer and it has mods you will want to get Recon=)

thanks sucks.

Over here in vegas, only thing u have to pass is your smog. and i have few friends that works at smog shop

Recon is way better than smog testing IMO
Lucky we live Hawaii

Dealerships will take your car even if you have to tow it there... They just want to sell you a car... No matter what they making money.

I do not think you can get the reconstruction permit before you come to Oahu since the only inspection office in Hawaii is on the island of Oahu. Not sure how the guys do it when they ship reconstructed cars to Hawaii. Read the sticky that I posted earlier. I think it has tips for guys coming into the state with this issue.

HID's, as long as it is OEM...you have no problem...unless it's burnt out or faced in the wrong direction.

Katsu, try going to Hawaiian Tire in Aiea. It's about $100. They're really good there and will assist you as best as they can. Peni and Virginia are really cool.

THANK GOD we do not have smog testing here.

Dude Don't even worry about recon's.. I lived in vegas and shipped my car through matson... The 15plus car carrier came to p/up my vehicle, transported to long beach and from there, shipped to Hawaii.. I made the transition in time and got my car in a week and a half.. I had black out tint,18inch rims, lowered on teins, mazdaspeed exhaust tip sticking out 6inches from the rear.... Received my car, got a step by step packet from matson on how to register vehicle. Got a safety check sticker, registered and got insurance on my car... and that's it.. left the mods on until 1 year later, got stopped by an officer who let be go!!! under many circumstances... 1. pull off my tint..2. put my license plate back on the front bumper and get recons for my 18's and thats it.. yes there's 2-options you can get a safety check.. 1. Illegal.. 2. Raise your car, pull off your tint, use some buddy's stock rims and get your safety check... Finally follow the step by step procedure listed on 808mp5 experience... other than that you good to go.. By the way i used to hang at aloha kitchen.. use to roll in my blue BMW...

NTP5.3, My friend who is moving back home first has a friend that does recon but he doesnt do anyone he doesnt know, so im out of the question. Also i think ive seen you before around Aloha Kitchen. I had a friend working there before named Homer he had Scion xb and that time i had white one. Also how long did it take to get your car from Las vegas to Long beach. I will change my tint before i go home. I have a friend who owns his tint shop.

How does he have a friend that does recon? Theres only one place to get recon here and they are no ones friend. I want a friend that does recon cuz mine need to be updated and I don't want to go throught the hassle of making an appointment and de-modding my car again. LOL

Hey Dude!! I was pretty fortunate to get my car that early. It usually takes about 6-7 hours from vegas to long beach.. or maybe 4-6 not sure.. At the time of booking, Matson ran a promotion with the trucking company which i originally paid 1000.00 something for door to door service.. The only thing is that, when i picked up my car i got a refund for 200.00 something.. due to the promotion that was effective at the time.. So!! shop!! around 1st and get a best quote for shipping.. Verizon is an other well known shipping company that a lot of locals use.. lastly you can drive your car to long beach cali and go through all the hassle> which will probably cost about 500.00-800.00 to ship to hawaii.. So there's many options to select from.. Time/money/ peace of mind.. Door 2 Door Service OR 500+miles to long beach,Gas,Motel,Plane ticket/greyhound back 2vegas,food..etc.etc. It'll add up to 1000.00+ So decide and come out with the best solution, depending your situation when you're ready to make the move... Dude I used to hang out at the decatur and sahara kitchen.. Once in awhile at pinoy/pinay, bjdj bibingka, goldilux, aloha specialty, pho kim long, red shirmp, L n L, sushi factory, todai's, but mostly at aloha kitchen... used to hang with some locals from hawaii. Cruise at moose mcgillycuddy's.. Popo, Scobby, little mike, pacman might ring a bell... OO and chevis at the time with his slammed prelude.. Jo-nas... they all used to work at aloha kitchen...
