Motorized Hatch

so you can budget yourself.

For what, to have enough money to pay for that mod? Said it might look cool, but no way would i ever do it. I got too many other things to dump money in... the new 300c, the new bike, the house, my kids.......damn maybe I should start eating mac and cheese with all my hobbies!

I am thinking about rewiring my "panic button" so that when I push it, it turns the car on, rolls down the windows, turns on the stereo, and any lights that I eventually have. I need to get some more stuff before I do this, and do alot more research, but I think its very possible. Its called my "slut" mod. "she does that for anybody with $5"

I like it!

How about a door popper for shaved door handles and stronger struts on the hatch?

Then it could be used by remote to pop the hatch and the stronger struts would lift the gate. You would still have to close it by hand, but it would open on its own.

Thats what i was getting at too

I know zip about electronics, so please be gentle... I don't know much about the MPV, or the new 5, but do either of them have the automatic hatch release?? If so, since it's already Mazda, it shouldn't be too hard to swap in, should it? I don't mind closing the hatch manually at all, but it would be nice on occasion to be able to open the hatch from my remote (alarm/starter).

Regarding shaving the handles and poppers for the doors, one of the local guys is doing this to his P5. He's also doing custom rims from blanks, custom billet grills, dual exhaust, custom rear valance, custom fabbed two buckets in the back (ie no more bench) and more - I can't wait to see how it turns out. Personally, I'd love to shave the handles and make the back doors suicides; that's about as 'pimp' as I'd get. :D

I thought about 2 buckets in the back seat and than building my own center console all the way from the front to the back. I dunno though, it would be cool, but how much money do I want to spend is the question.

I helped a guy do that to his Maxima. Looks awesome.
