Motor Oil

I'm running Pennzoil Platinum full synthetic, 5-w30.

Way better than whatever crud was in the engine before I got her (cabpatch)

Walmart Super Tech 5W-30 and oil filter for under $15. The PO ran non-synthetic for the previous 70K, so I'm just following suit :)

My interval for oil changes has gone down to 3K instead of between 4K - 5K when I was running Pennzoil Platinum.

5w-30. it's what the manual recommends, so i'd say just stick with it. As far as dino oil or synthetic, it's just your personal preference. There are literally dozens of pages-long threads on here about motor oil, so please do a little searching.

Valvoline MaxLife 10-40. And still burning (boom02)

Mine didn't burn a shred of oil when I bought it at 67k. Now it burns a decent amount at 83k. I just replaced the oil pressure switch and PCV valve. We'll see. The PCV DID fix my weird idle that I've had from the beginning. I thought it was the EGR, but no.

hmmm mines got 148K and doesnt burn a drop. i guess im lucky lol

5w-30 thats cheap

i burn enough that i do 5-6-7k oil changes now since i cycle so much through none of the original oil is still in it.

i use mobile 1 5w-30 thinking about going to royal purple though, put it in my bikes final gear going to put it in the bikes engine next then we will see how that does and then maybe the 5 but at 126000 no oil burn at all.
