Motor Mount Install - how long should I expect

if they are good, not even a couple hours. I would say 1-4 hours depending on the shop,

Me and a mechanic installed my rear mount in about two hours that thing is a b****!!! but the front mount can be done in less than ten minutes.

everything but the rear is cake, the rear should take someone in the know around 2-3 hours all thanks to 1 freakin bolt

you should not have had a shop do it. with some determination and a understanding of basic mechanics, you can do it yourself. took me about 2 hours. dont listen to the "horror stories" of the rear mount.

i just did the front one today in 10 minutes but i took one look at the rear and saved it for another day, looks like it could be tough to do yourself!

The rear is not really hard to change but it takes forever. the only thing is you have to put your socket on the bolts up there and then put the ratchet on them because of the damn lip on the stock mount but the Aftermarket one is easier because the lips on the side of the mount are not as high. its not really hard it just takes time.

i agree....don't waste your money for a shop to do it....front mount 10 mins...

rear mount is easy once ya get to it

I had a local shop install all 4 of mine in about 3 hours. about half of that was spent on the rear alone. And I'm sure they could have done it faster, but were working on other cars at the same time.

I would do it but I just don't have the time. Believe me, I hate to have to have some shop work on my car when I can. I changed the passenger side and front no problem. I took a look at my transmission mount and it was fine. I couldn't change it out though as the bolt did not line up. And again, I ran out of time as I needed the car in the morning. So, off to let the shop do it.

I know what you mean. My problem however, is that I don't have anywhere to do it. I live in an apartment complex and have a pretty small garage. I'm lucky to have enough space to even park my car in it.

Does the crossmember have to be dropped in order to get to the rear mount? I stared at it for a long time and couldn't come up with any good way to get a ratchet/impact on the three bolts right next to the firewall.
