motor feels like it wants to jump out of car

This morning when I started my car up to go to school, it cranked and then caugh but when it caugh it really felt like it wanted to jump out of the car. I could feel the motor lurch forward. Also, when I let it cool down and the turn it off, I relize how much vibration I feel in my seat, cuz when I turn it off it feels like I turned a massager off or something. After my exam just now, I started it and felt like it was rocking back and forth a little. Is this normal? Broken motor mount or something?

I thought about a month ago that I had a broken mount because of wheel hop in first gear, but that seems to have gone away. So i say that it was because having the stock tires on in the cold. Now it is warmer 60-70s and the wheel hop seems to have gone away.

mounts are gone...mine went about 1K miles also....first time I dumped the clutch they were gone....don't even bother with the dealer. just order the AWR automatic bushings from protege5online.

Do what Turbo Matty P did. I have done side-by-side comparisons of stock against AWR with the engine running. With the engine running, I reved mine, and it didn't move. Sore freinds with stock motor mounts reved their engines, and it just shook. The only drawback to stiffer mounts is a little more vibration to the cabin. How much does an average install run on the mounts? My mechanical limits stop at an intake install or simple stereo work. I've also heard the rear mount is a b****. Thanks for any estimate on labor.

Do you have a cherry picker or something to hold the engine? Or do we not need one in this car? I have no clue about motor mounts.........I've done em on old v8s before...

i thought to change we could put a floor jack under the motor to support it? Well, I am gonna with the stockers right now, because I really dont wanna pay someone to install them and am at a temporoary location until the summer. During the summer I will have a place and time to install better ones.

Depending on the mount setup, you can probably remove 1 at a time without any severe problems. If there's too much pressure on the old mounts and they get ruined, you're putting new ones on anyways.

If you're really worried about it, you can get a cherry picker, or find something sturdy to wrap a chain around (you don't have to lift it).

DO NOT put a jack under the oil pan.

I going to order the AMR motor mount. I have a 03.5 mazdaspeed, I'm not sure is there a differece between the msp to the P5, MP3 and the sedan, and I don't know which one should I get Automatic, or Manual?? and I heard that the softer one makes less vibration.

You will not be able to do the mounts without a jack or engine hoist. You CAN put a jack under the oil pan, but you MUST put a block of wood between the jack and the oil pan.
