I know you people are sick of BOV threads, I've been searching and have yet to find a direct answer to my question. Anywho let's get to the point.

The g/f as you may know owns a bone stock 03.5 TGM MSP. She doesn't want to mod it out the anus for warranty reasons and money reasons. I am gonna surprise her with a BOV, Diverter valve, intake, exhaust or something tomorrow. I don't mind buying IC hardpipe and all that stuff, but she didn't want to mod it when I mentioned changing all of that.

I told her I agree to keep it simple, since it's her car not mine and not yours. She's a lil ricer (eekdance) lol and just wants the BOV sound. She loves her car more than anything more than anything, wants to keep it simple and keep it nice like I said. So that being said, I was thinking a Forge BOV and i'm still unsure as to what a Diverter valve does. From my searching I believe it takes the place of the stock BPV. Would this unit just take the place of that? What do you all think, just get a Forge BOV? I've read some things about it stalling occassionally (moreso on the first day). Other then that I have heard nothing but good...any thoughts anyone?<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

Ok ... man ... i have been fightiing this BOV battle for quite some time now, so i am going to write you a book. First of all ... unless you just like the sound of the Forge BOV over any of the others, i would recomend not getting it and getting the greddy BOV instead, if she is a little ricer and wants the sound she is used to in a BOV (IE ... Fast and the Furious sound) then a greddy is what she wants. In order to get the BOV to work properly on our setup without stalling here is what you have to do.

1. Get a set of hardpipes
2. Have the BOV flange welded about 4 - 5.57 inches away from the intake inlet (no more .... no less)
3. Attach the BOV to the flage and run it a dedicated vacuum line (not a must that it be dedicated, but it will be louder) I would recomend hacking the brake booster line to get good vacuum. I have a complete thread on how to do that.
4. You will want to remove the stock bpv and cap off these 3 nipples.
a. The vacuum line nipple for the stock BPV
b. The Nipple on the air intake system that leads to the BPV
c. The nipple on the Turbo/IC pipe that leads to the BPV
---- This step would be a lot easier if you just ran all your devices off the Brake booster line and setup the wastegate line dedicated from the intake manifold ( IE ... the line that used to go to the wastegate/BPV ... just goes to the wastegate)
5. Adjust the s*** out of the BOV ... i started mine with 3 threads left of the greddy and kept loosening it until the car no longer stalled ... in my case that is about 5 - 6 threads outside of the BOV ... different for all people though.

You might still stall every once and awhile, but it will not be bad, just a learning curve.

Enjoy ... any questions just post them and ill try to answer.
