2006 True Silver Mazda5 Touring 5M
Okay, I have a new record....
6 5s in one day, and that is in Toledo Ohio, not exactly a hotbed of innovative automotive purchasing.

So, I waited 4 years to buy an M5 last month, and now I think I'll get rid of it, as they now seem to be all over the place(lol2).

There's one on my street, about 3 houses up. There was one parked in a small strip mall I was at today. I also saw a couple of others in and around my small town on the Oregon coast today.

But the best one was...as I was heading home this evening, there was one right in front of me at a stoplight. It pulled over into the left turn lane so I came up along side of it. It was from Texas (long way from home!), with 2 ladies in it.

I finally caught their attention, I was pointing at their car, then my car...they finally figured out it was because they were both M5's.

Hanging out in the IKEA dining area (second floor overlooking the parking lot) I lost count of Mazda5s and pregnant females. Never seen so many of either in one place, much less the same one.

i only see about 1 or 2 a week here..and there all from canada (im in port huron MI just on the other side of the blue water bridge)

Apparently, these things are super-popular over in Israel.

A friend of mine just came back from a trip there, said the town of Beit Shemesh had more Mazda5's than it did residents (mostly Americans move to that town, apparently)!

Large vehicles are not practical to drive around there due to fuel efficiency restrictions, etc, so the M5 appears to be the most popular option!

Makes sense to me...

Went to the pancake breakfast this morning as part of the Canada day celebrations.

Kind of cool and rainy, so only a couple dozen in line at 9am, but there were 4 GT 5's (including mine) parked in the lot beside the park where breakfast was served, and every one was a 5 speed manual (omg!) Seems like there are two types of buyers in our community: Under 50, stick Mazda5 buyers and over 80, auto buyers.

Honestly, I'd LOVE to have gone manual shift like my other cars, but they're hard to find used, apparently. Most people who buy them seem to want to hold on to them... Only the autos are up for sale second hand! (drive)

I see very few driving around in Southern California... maybe 3 or 4 per week.

Considering I probably see 100 Priuses and 50 Honda Fits... it's not really a popular car out on the left coast.

At work there's 6 MZ5 including mine 3 GT and 2 GS. My drive to and fro is around 90 Km a day and I usually see 1 -2 early in the morning and up to 7 MZ5 on the express alone, maybe more on the collectors but I dont usually look that hard on that lane when Im on the express lane.

Added 1 more as theres a new employee in my area with an 07 GT in CG

Coming out of Sidney toward Victoria on the Pat Bay highway, I had already seen a GS and 2 GT's when I came upon what I thought was another GS (no rear spoiler). Had the new taillights , so a 2008 or newer. But...no side skirts, and the new 17" wheels. Had a BC plate on the back, so I thought I was seeing my first imported US Sport model. Sure enough, it had fogs..but....it also had daytime running lights (just reduced high beam lights, no tails or markers on).

So...what the hell did I see? If it was an American import, it wouldn't have daytime running lights, and if it was a GS, where did the fogs and wheels come from? It couldn't have been a GT without the skirts and spoiler, because it didn't have a sunroof.

Any guesses from the Canuck contingent?

Maybe it is a US import.
Definitely a sport (without spoiler), US sport comes with 17" rims and it easy to install after market fogs. Bet its a US sports.

Had daytime running lights. Not cheap or easy (or required when importing) to install.

BTW - How does one tell the difference between different styles of the 5?

From what I've read here, I think the one I just purchased used is a Touring edition (automatic transmission, sunroof, alloy wheels, center console under passenger middle seat, etc). But I'm honestly not even sure.

Is there a list of configuration styles for the 2007 US mazda5?

Seems that the Grand Touring model has leather and nav as well as the features that come on the Touring model.

Likely lots of other options and features as well, but i'm no expert on US models.

Also, 06/07 different than 08/09, and those may be dirrerent than the '10 Mazda5.
