Moroso Oilpan

Is there any further info on this or is this history. If there is anyway I can help let me know.
Moroso had temporarily shut down it's sport compact division. Management thought they need to catch up with other companies domestic products. So, imports have only been looked at in our guy's spare time. I spoke with him last week, and he admitted they have made no progress from where I last reported. He still says this will eventually be completed, just doesn't know when. Further he reaffirmed to get this pushed up the priority list, they would need one more custom order. I had someone on another forum who said they were goig to place an order, but I don't know what happened there. Both here and Probetalk there seemed to be a lot of interest.

If you are interested in getting a pan and don't want to wait a year, and have no qualms about placing a custom order, PM or email me and I will relay you the contect information. Our inside guy would then take the order and get things rolling.

I am quite disappointed in how long this has taken, the only thing done is the flange. I had a custom fabricator approach me after seeing my thread in PT, but he''s nver built a pan, and I would like to leave that up to the guys who do it best.

Auto Rnd is looking at getting this done we are currently working a deal to get this done. It will have two location for a turbo line and a location for aftermarket oil press guage. :D

We will have oil pans my friends. I have been working with Moroso to get this done for about a week now. We have offered to buy 10 pans, to get this project back on track. Once we have a price nailed down we will do a initial buy for 8 of the 10 pans.

Thank you!! Glad this is finally getting somewhere.

Why use the pan for an oil pressure gauge, why not just use the stock sender location and tee off of that?

You're going to encourage people to put an oil pressure gauge on their oil pan? Wow, I'm guessing that will finally give some consistent oil pressure readings!

So this won't be a true dry sump oil system but it will kind of act as one by keeping the oil away from the crank. ie baffles and stuff

I only ask because that is the difference between street prepared and modified per SCCA regulations

It will be a 4 baffle system rectangular, with increased capacity. It will use the stock pickup because ours is a rotary type so it will provide plenty of oil. This pan will most likely just increase oil pressure under hard cornering and provide proper placement for a turbo line without having to modify stock pan. Randy at Moroso also said since he did not have to redesign the pickup that he would add a tap for oil press just in case someone wanted the option. Hope this helps I will have the locations of all these things as we work through them. If you have any suggestions please make them now. Input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Dave

Not nessearily a guage sorry I am typing fast. It is a location for a aftermarket sender so it is mostly a option that will just come capped off. If you think it is a bad idea then we can change. :)

I am just happy just be able to bring this to market. It is one more thing to help out those AutoX guys.

Also is there any input on where the bung for the oil line for turbo should go please give input?

Thanks
Dave

The Flyin' Protege directions have a good place for the oil line from the turbo into the pan.

I have emailed Randy a few times and have not recieved anything back. I will call him tuesday and see how this is going.

Can you look into where the bung is located on the Mazdaspeed so the pan is a universal FS 2.0 part?

no. people have been looking into starting this again. There have been to many engines gone bad due to lack of oil. They're are a couple other threads about this also.
