Is it possible to have more than one Mazdaspeed3 tuned to the Cobb tuner. My office manager has a 2007 MS3 and I have a 2009, Thanks!!

Sure you can if you unmarry it. Just like subbies why do you think everyone gets a pro tune and then sells them?

yes but the protuner isnt out for the ms3 all thats out is the hand helds. The pro/street tuner hasnt been released correct me if im wrong but when you unmarry it from the ecu it erases the map correct?

correct. Obviously Cobb needs to make money and they wouldn't make any if you could just go around flashing cars for free.

It's still inaccurate you can unmarry a unit and it holds tune. It's just like a reflash from the dealer. It's not like once you unplug it, it goes away. At least it hasn't been in my experiences with the cobb.

ummm no thats incorrect when you unmarry a Cobb unit it wipes the tune and flashes it back to stock. I think you interpreting "unmarrying" as just unpluging the unit from the obd2 port. What we mean by unmarrying is actually removing the cobb tuning software from the ecu so you can use it on another ecu.

you can plug the cobb tuner in another ecu but it wont work. Once its been married to one ecu the only way to use it on another one is to unmarry it and wipe the tune then remarry it onto the new ecu.

when you unmarry it from the vehicle it does not take the tune with it unless you did not flash it. If you are just using it as a realtime map then you would lose it. Hence the reason that when you get a pro tune you can then unmarry the unit from your vehicle and sell it. I understand that protune software for your vehicle is not available yet however once you flash the prom with the tune that you would like to use unmarrying it or whatever you want to do will not erase it except for a total power loss.

Well maybe then for mazdas it's diff. but my buddy still has his stage 2 ap map on his subbie even though the unit is unmarried from the car and my other buddy bought it and has a protune.

IF you unmarry the ap from your car it takes the tune off.

period.

/thread.

k thanks

-of course if you have a custome tune you can always save the parameters for a base for your next tune, like an open source tune or if you will be using the standback.
