hey i am just wondering what people are doing to make their SPD faster off the line? I am happy with the power once the turbo spools up but the first initial launch of the line is really sad any info would be great.

pulleys, or nitrous would work for ya.

welcome to the board. you can find the crank pulley and the water/alt pump pulley set on srmotorsports.com

they are 195 plus shipping

i think the mazda flywheels are 16 or 17 pounds..going lighter would help..just makes everyday driving a little..uh..different..

no the msp is the best car on the planet and it doesnt need anything to make it better.

I am glad you see my point. You'd only need a lighter flywheel if you drove a trailer queen drag car.

Also: I used to own a 2002 P5 so I know this engine N/A and Turboed, it revs like crazy. If you want off the line power you need torque which is hard to just list parts for, unlike freeing up / bolting on top-end HP. For now I recommend tires and practice practice practice!

Note: For those who have seen my car, you'll know why I can't stress new tires enough. A SRT-4 owner was looking at my car tonight and was like "WHAT HAPPENDED TO YOUR TIRES? DAMNNN!!"

grab a supercharger!!! power right off the line!!!! and spools ur turbo faster as well!!!

whats up with this? i got supercharger on the mind tonight...

the car is plenty streetable with a lighter flywheel, it just takes a little time (a day maybe) to get used to, and requires a bit more skill

Get a short Shifter Kit..That should help you to shift allot faster..Which inturns..gets you away from the line faster!

:p

alright so how does lightening the fly wheel effect the driveability of the car what is different i am curiouse and thanks for the help !

When you're off the gas, the car loses speed a little faster, rpms drop a little faster... takes a little more gas to keep the engine from bogging when you begin to move. Easy to get used to, the only time I really noticed much of a difference was on my old Infiniti G20 in the rain, on a hill, with the A/C on and 5 people over 160 lbs in the car.
