Mods you regret

I regret making my mazdaspeed axleback a custom catback that thing is lound at 3500 and on the highway its just madness its sad when my friends can hear when im accelerating on the highway

Only regrets is having to feed my kids grilled cheese and doritos 3 days a week due to being broke from over-modding habit!

Man that sounds much worse once I type it! Really it's not that bad!!

No, you will forget them, I will make sure of it (wink). Project Xross Links is still in the works. I am close to having the perfect end pieces of the endlinks and working on matching center piece. I will of course report more once I am closer.

Kinda a moot point for me. I sold off a few of the mods and don't bother modding the P5 anymore. I have a 300hp country squire autox car and a 190E benz that I'm currently bulding for autox/track duty.

Amusingly I just noticed a new thread about endlink trouble.... Guess nobody has searched. Similar issues back when Tokico released the Illuminas in 04. I worked with Tony and took care of that issue.

The problem is the center shaft is too short for P5, they were designed with the MSP in mind. So when you extend them out to fit, they become weak and the unthreaded part bends. As for the design of the pivot, it is not designed for what most people on this board want. Trouble free and maintance free as possible. It is ok if the car is a race car, but not a daily car. Dirt gets in the pivot and they make a lot of noise.

The bending of the endlinks broke my sway bar bracket and messed up one of my tires. When I called Tony, he said just shorten the links, that is not a solution.

I would just put OEM links back on, but I refuse to have to cut them off again because of the stupid design.

Hmm, not quite what I delt with. The length was perfect, the collar/spacers that were on the strut side did not space the hiem out far enough to clear the strut mount tab at steering lock (or less than lock)

I'll try and dig out my old ass pics...might be tough since it was from 4 yrs ago.

Ah, now I understand. You did not have a problem with the front AWR endlinks length because the MSP and P5 are the same in the front. I could understand the issue with not enough clearance, but that is fixable. Was there any noise because of the links?

The endlinks I am talking about where the rear ones (since I was putting on the progressive rear sway bar).

Mine were noisy after about 80,000 miles. I had em in the rear also- on a AWR 21.5mm bar. The links didn't break, the frame mount did though.
