Modified Madness at Penn State, May 21 - 22!

In case anyone cared, I'm going show field since I think I've done enough to the car to show it like that... We'll see how I do. What is your drink of preference guys? I'll bring something with me to ensure that we have a good time and to buy my way into it... (headbang) . I'm gonna be staying with a friend on Frat Row, so I can stagger there after we're done partying. I can't wait for this thing to happen! Do you all want to exchange cell numbers and all so we can coordinate once we get up there? Also, what day are you all getting up there? Are you going to the hotel on Friday and rolling into the show on Saturday, or are you going to drive in on Saturday and only spend Sat. night in the hotel? I think if we all meet somewhere before the show, polish up the cars and then roll in, we could make a better entrence than if we all rolled in separately. Any ideas?
I'm down to hang out and stuff, but as for rolling in together, I'd have to say no. There's going to be a ton of traffic in town (hence the reason I got the closest hotel I could to where the show is being held), and I don't want to drive somewhere to meet up, and then drive back a few miles in bumper to bumper traffic.

.. Well Dana, ever think that we could meet up at the Hampton itself? Like, duh and stuff. <3 .. The Hampton's parking lot is pretty big, but of course, doesn't offer anything by way of a hose and so forth to polish up the cars. So if people want to prep their cars seperately, then meet up at the Hampton, and THEN go to the show .. ? Just a thought.
And I'll drink just about anything -- EXCEPT for the 'nasty' beers (y'know what kinds I mean, Natty Ice and Beast and Hi Life and that s***) and Jaegermeister. Nasty beer makes me sick, and Jaegermeister makes me black out. And I'm not a particular fan of either of those, heh. Oh, and Guiness. Puke. Hate that, too.
Overall, I'm pretty much a Miller Lite girl.

Just found this thread.... I will be going to this show all the way from Holland, OH (Michigan). I go to Carlisle just about every year. I am not taking my MSP though, its not show yet... just all engine. Plus my damn body kit is separating which looks ghetto.
My buddy has a Civic SI that is unreal. He just built the motor this winter, port n polish, chromed his supercharger, yea you could eat off the engine. Anyway I am going with him and hoping to add to his many awards. I don't think we have a hotel yet, but it would be cool to talk to fellow MSP'ers and Mazda fans. I can't wait to get my car to be show quality so I can show off. See you there I guess.

Yeah, I thought about that, but to be honest, I'm not an early riser, so as soon as I wake up, I'm going to want to be on my way (not waiting around on people for 20 mins). Not trying to be a dick, but I REALLY hate driving my car in traffic.
Now if people were there before I left, then that would be fine. I just don't want to wait around at all, since it's probably going to be one of those situations where waiting a minute will cost you five minutes of sitting in traffic.
That was why I was so stuck on getting a hotel close to the show.I know a chick that works at Damon's. We can steal their hose.

then you guys are in luck...every bar in town has Lager, some have black and tan too...
but as far as other beers...State College has just about the shittiest bars for good beer than anywhere on earth...One bar in town has Franziskaner on tap, and its only natural, no dunkle...some bars have normal good stuff, which is cool...but if its a great beer that is hard to find, you won't find it in State College...some places have Guiness and other normal imports...but other places you could end up suckin' on a Blue Ribbon...oh well, still does the trick...
Although, where Rush works they have Stella...one of my all time favorites...Cindy any way you can get a GB going on stella artois for us forum members?...

Uhh .. not exactly sure whatcha' mean, heh. What, if we all go in there and want to drink Stella, get some kinda discount -- that what you're talkin' about? Maybe, but I doubt it. Well, I have a chagne in plans. Im not showing at all. Car is being take back to totally stock and hopefully sold before then. Ill be rollin up in my FC (If I get my new rotors back from pineapple in time) if not, we will be rollin the Missus' car (GASP-A chevy Aveo 4 door)

ha yeah...bad joke...I didn't know what the employeed discount was at that place...a lot of the downtown bars allow you to get discounts on a bunch of bottles or pitures...so it helps if you know someone that works there that isn't working that night, so they can order it for you...
So someone please explain to me what type of place this show is at. Every year I used to go to Carlisle when it was at the Fairgrounds.... but the show got kicked out due to craziness. I have never been to this one. What hotel should I get that won't be too far of a drive and will be a decent place?

Its in an indoor stadium type thing I guess...the Bryce Jordan Center is pretty large, but I guess this show is as well... so who knows...but whats not inside will just be in a huge parking lot around Beaver Stadium, which is the football stadium...
but it shouldn't be too bad here...the 21st is between semesters, so most of the students will be home (except for the ones that live here year round obviously)...
