OK, My MSP is broken in (700 miles now, but I'm still going to take it easy for a while, and only open up every so often). I plan to modify this car without voiding the warranty, so a boost controller is out for the moment.

1. Injen CAI
2. 3" Turbo-back exhaust
3. FMIC

(in that order)

?'s:

1. Is that the best order to do these things?
2. How much louder is a 3" exhaust? I don't want to attract too much attention from Crown Vics.
3. How much HP/Tq do you think I can get from these?

Thanks for your help!

1. prob exhaust and fmic before intake, stock isn't a terrible design, while the stock intercooler and exhaust are
2. a good amount louder, a 2.5" will be able to flow plenty for ~400hp, which this turbo/motor will never see. if you're worried, get 2.5". plus 3" may introduce boost creep to the system which isn't fun
3. a good amount

im not sure, but i would guess right around that, maybe slightly larger but not much. the 2 cats and the terrible "s" pipe are the bad parts of the exhaust

So what you're saying is that a 2.5" turbo-back exhaust, without the s-bend would make a big difference without making too much noise?

yep, the s bend (due to the gas having to make sharp turns) and the first cat (well any cat really) hurt performance a lot, and 2.5" exhaust will be a nice sound and perform more than well enough.

if you're trying to mod the car without voiding the warranty, a fmic is out of the question unless your dealership is really relaxed. just a heads up on that.

Yeah a MBC is easier to hide or remove and get back to stock than a FMIC..
