MLP replacemnt in trany?

Has anyone ever replaced their MLP in their trany? If so how complicated is the job? Am I better off just having a transmission shop do the work vs doing it myself? Thanks

They called it a Manual Lever Positioning sensor, thats what two trans shops have told me that needed to be replaced. Danco, and a mom and pop shop.

BTW..It should not be hard at all..It Screws in..Its simple.

Ok awesome. Is it a part I need to get from mazda or buy aftermarket?

Id buy it from mazda, changed mine last year, manual levr position sensor it fits on the front of the trans, you can change it pretty easily just remember to use two wrenches one the large nut one and one to hold the shaft otherwise you could mess up the internal rod. when you look at it youll see what I mean.
