Miracle for fuel economy?

early results are in.... not to bum anyone out but I didn't notice a single change. drivingwise I may have done a bit more city driving than usual, but not much. As a rule, I always calculate my gas mileage after every fill up. Since I always use the same gas station, the chance of it not being accurate (when the nozzle shuts off) isn't a factor.

Bottom line, though it's still early and I'm definitely gonna keep trying.... avg mpg prior to acetone: 27ish... today, 27.587

I've abandoned my idea of just guessing and have a measuring cup now. hopefully a more precise measurement will yield better results.

I just added 1.5 oz to my half a tank, we'll see how the mileage goes for the last half of my tank.

Weird. I'm not through my tank of gas yet, but I can already see a big increas in economy. In fact, I have been purposefully getting on the gas occasionally to avoid making it biased by my driving.

You guys have fun with that. I just would not feel right pouring something that melts paint into my fuel system. But maybe I'm just wierd.

Like gasoline? Yeah, I know... I worry every time I go to the pump to get gas, I worry my car's gonna get messed up by being filled with ethanol and petrol. ;) Hehee.

I really wouldn't worry about that! I've done tons of research and sone race gas brews have as much as 5-10% acetone, usually with ethanol (to absorb water) which is even more corrosive on plastics. Those quantities (3 oz) are negligible. I'm now sure about this 99.999%

i averaged out to a 7mpg increase on my first tank. i was getting 22-24 my driving style and i got 29 this tank with a lot of city driving

lol, i was thinking the same thing, nice results btw

i haven't noticed too big of a difference, but i've been moving the past couple of weeks and my car has had a couple hundred lbs of stuff in it.

next fillup, i'll pour an exact amount in.

Are any of you guys using ethanol blends? From what I've read so far, I think there'd be less of an effect if using an ethanol blended fuel.

Everything here is E10... my brother is still getting 3mpg better in his talon... I should finish out my tank in my blazer by early next week... so I'll know.... it looks like it could be a small gain at this point... but not too sure yet.

OK. I mashed the s*** out of the pedal the first half of the tank cause I was so pleased with the the way the car was running. However, so that I wouldn't totally negate the efficiency effects of the acetone additive I have returned to my normal driving style the second half of the tank. I am now at over 390 km on this tank with a full quarter of a tank to go. Recall, that previously my best mileage was 340-380 km per tank. I expect to achieve well over 400 km with my current mileage. This is even in the face of a badly leaking exhaust manifold which robs power like no other. I suspect that my mileage will improve even more once the manifold is taken care of.

I'm at 320 miles with a 1/4 tank left. That's driving normally. If I end up with an average of 29-30 mpg, I'll be estatic. Most of my miles are in the city and the ones on the freeway are negated by the way I get onto the freeway ;)

You mean kilometerage, right? (thumb)

My non-acetone tank took me back down from 360miles to 330miles before I had to fill-up. Going back to acetone for good.

I bought a GLASS kitchen measuring cup, and a stainless steel funnel from Wal*Mart.

So you fill up with gas and then when you get home you add the acetone to your tank, right?

I put mine in at the gas station. I have 3 ounces in a little four ounce bottle designed for bringing mouthwash or whatever with you when traveling. I picked it up at Target, and it has no issue with the acetone or anything.
