Hello, I left my CX-5 at my apartment complex over break, covered. However, when I got back, half the cover was removed and I noticed a scratch on the rear passenger door. It's minor, but I still want to know if those Magic Paint Pens, would do the trick to fix it. Or, if I should take it in to the body shop to have it repaired.

I recently had similar damage repaired. Mine had a couple of dents and two scratches that went into the primer coat. I had a paint-less dent guy fix the dents thinking I could touch up the scratches with the Mazda touch up paint. No go. The paint would not cover the scratch (too thin, at least on my white car) with out multiple coats and then it looked horrible. I finally just took it to a body shop. They did a great job. I cost $500 but filed an insurance comp claim for vandalism and my deductible was $250. To do it correctly they painted the door and the fender in order to blend the color.

Just buff it out and rub a little wax on there.

It'll be fine.
