MIL Codes

We bought our CX-5 a few days ago and we had a check engine light come on this evening. My scanner says that it's a P0722 but I haven't been able to determine what exactly that means. Has anyone else had this code or knows what the implications may be? All I was able to determine is that it may be for "Input/turbine speed sensor circuit malfunction" so I'm thinking it may be an automatic transmission code:

The above info is for the CX-7 but maybe it's applicable.

No, this is a wheel speed sensor. These can get dirty or covered in debris which can degrade pulse counts. If you're feeling froggy, you can get under the car and check yourself. Make sure they are still in their settings and not loose. They are sensitive if disturbed from their proper fixed setting.

**EDIT**

Nope, I was wrong. I looked at the WSM page you posted. Must be a similar hall type sensor which counts transmission speed. Don't know much about ATXs. Only thing I can guess on such a new car is sensor failure or a dirty or loose/poorly terminated senor connector/harness.

We brought it back to the dealer and they ran a diagnostic test. They determined that it was due to a software "hiccup" in the transmission control unit. They're going to update the TCU's programming and the test drive it for 50 miles. If all goes well on the test drive then they'll deliver the vehicle back to us.

I'm not sure it's the same issue. Those accounts mention the presence of a traction control and TPMS warning. The only warning light we had was a simple CEL. The dealer successfully updated the TCU software and we were given the car back this afternoon. Hopefully that is the last we'll see of this issue.
