Shouldn't really cost me that much to drive 2 hours there and 2 hours back.

I just don't see the point of entering my car in the show when I have a stock car. Now, if there was a racing event like AutoX, I'd definitely be down for that.

its not a "show" its a gathering of cars... all parked together, for the common viewing. last year I'd say there were more cars there with less than 5 mods there than there were with more than that.

Well that's my point. I don't want to pay to go to some get together.

its a great event, and a lot of fun. last year for the admission fee we got easily triple our money back. goodie bag, shirt, $10 game card, a light dinner, door prizes, trophies, access to a museum full of cars you'll likely never see again, and a great group of people. I don't speak for the organizer, but if you're not willing to contribute $20 to that, don't come. if everybody thought the way you do, the event wouldn't happen. are you that hard up for cash?

add to that that proceeds go to the humane society.. i mean... really, whats the harm?

and the a shirt :), im registering.. once i look at my bank account after todays purchases

It's not an issue of ammount, it's the fact that I'd be paying for something I don't want. I think you missunderstood my post. I was just curious if we still had to pay the $20 even if we weren't interested in being a part of a car show or getting a t-shirt. I'd rather just go and hang out with people. And if I want a t-shirt, I'll buy one, and if I want to go into some museum, I'll pay the enterance fee.

Do you have any idea how much preparation and how much it costs to put on a show of this scale? Last year was super organized and everything was taken care of before hand. No ball had been dropped and it couldn't have been cheap to get everything we got (sponsors or not). Its well worth the $20 if for nothing else than a charitable donation.

btw, I'm registered and I'm excited to go!

Oh ya!!.. Mazda Thunder... MazdaFest ... and EECMM gonna be a busy year!!!

Info on Mazda Thunder?

I'll see ya at EECMM. Have you been to one yet? Wondering if I met you or not.

:on topic: just keeping posted on the info for the Mazdafest, probably gonna get a hotel fri night since it starts at 8 and i like promptness.

Man, I didn't know all of that. We may have to take both 626's. I think that I may register early myself.

It's a great event... how can you not want to help the Humane Society, in which if I remember correctly, we were able to raise almost $2000 in donations and goods. Plus all of the free goodies. $1 for hotdogs or hamburgers with a drink and chips. Also having Dent Wizard, a company who gave discounted prices on their dent repairs. Plus like what others have said about a car collection, which is not open to the public, available for that day. A lot of vintage cars and items, many of which are for sale. How can I also forget about the hotel party that happened later Saturday night?

It's a win-win situation for everyone. Even if you don't leave with a prize or trophy, you'll leave with memories of ppl and cars that you've seen and met. Not-to-mention, you can finally put the face on the name that you've got to know on here.
