Midwest Mazdafest 2009!

So update on the show: We currently have 89 cars registered. We only have goody bags for the first 100 cars, hell, we only thought we were going to get 60 cars! Sooooo... if you want a goody bag, make sure you get registered quick!

Cant wait to meet all of you in just 39 days! =)

You will have until April 1st to reserve one of the rooms in this block. If you wait until after April 1st, you can still obtain the same rate if rooms are available in the hotel, but there is no way of knowing if you will be in the same block as the others so reserve early!

Glad to see everyone is getting excited! Krystm is now our official countdown clock!

Ok, so here is todays update and a new revised layout. I had the opportunity to walk the grounds today and we are very excited! Ray is VERY excited to have us at his place and when you are there, please try to extend thanks to any of the Ray Skillman team as they have been truly incredible to work with!

A few ground rules:

1.) The entire area is pet friendly, with the exception of inside the museum. Please make sure that you keep your dogs on a leash.

2.) The museum is a SMOKE FREE facility. If you are going to smoke, please do so outside, and PLEASE make sure that you remove your cigarette butts.

3.) Please do not touch or sit in the cars in the museum. There are many cars in the museum worth over $250,000... (Oh yeah, everything in the museum is also for sale... so bring your checkbook if you want!)

4.) Please do not allow children to run around the museum.

5.) We will have music and a sound system, but we are asking that there be no "bass contests" or any other lound music during the event.

Thats about it... .Just need to remember that we are hoping to make this a year round event and hope that we are asked to come back next year!

Food: There will be food at the event in the form of Hotdogs, Chips, and a soda for $1.00! Yep... just $1.00... All the procedes will go to the Indianapolis Humane Society!

Car Wash 101: Driven Auto Detail will be conducting a Car Wash 101 seminar, including the basics, and how to properly clay bar your car!

Cornhole Showdown: We will be having a "Cornhole Showdown" that all paid registered attendees may participate in. You will get 8 bags and try to make as many points as possible using standard scoring. The top 8 scorers, will advance to our Mazda Final 8 Bracket to compete for prizes!

Entry: We will have signs on US 31 to guide you to Mazdafest! DO NOT try to enter using Apryl Drive. Use the service drive just north of Apryl Drive as shown on the map. There is a Skillman Collision sign that will be marked "Midwest Mazdafest - Enter Here" on the Marquee.

Parking: When you arrive your car will be photographed, and you will receive a 4x6 framed Mazdafest photo of your car at the end of the show! You will be parked by car type as shown in the map below. If you want to gaurantee that you are parked next to someone, you will need to make sure you arrive together. We will not be moving cars once they are parked. After you are parked, please come up to the the Registration booth, to pick up your goody bag, info packet, and Event ID. Your event ID should be worn throughout the event. You will also need an event ID to participate in the Jillians party after the show!

Dent Wizard Dent Removal

Hey guys and gals... Just another reminder that we will be having Paintless Dent Removal from Dent Wizard on site for Mazdafest! The rates will vary depending on the size of the ding, but it will run you about $50 per "quarter sized" ding. Just so you know how much of a savings, the typical cost starts at $129, just for the first ding.

We are just asking for responses to let us know how many repair guys they should send out... If you are interested please send an email to me at flyboyindy@aol.com. You will NOT be obligated to get your car fixed... just want to gauge interest.

Heh... I should let them see my rear door. They'll probably say no...

So I'll be getting my car professionally detailed next weekend so it's nice and shiny for the meet two weeks later. Anyone have any ideas as to how I can avoid covering the hatch in oil on my drive there? Trailer it? Cover the entire hatch in painters tape? LOL...

You know, that's not a bad idea. Make some kind of shield? It's just going to suck because the P5 will be perfectly cleaned next weekend but I know within a day there will be oil spots on the hatch.

I've got some stuff that I can bring... don't need both of our little "cat" crates because we got a bigger one. its got some chew marks though. haha

edit: gonna ransack my mom's house for extra stuff that doesn't get used anymore too.
