TEchnical question about the Microtech...How does it messure boost? Does it have a pressure sensor or is a vaccuum line run to it? One more question, is anyone here know if the software can upload new skins for the gauges!? They are kinda lame

Okay, I juut answered my first question, the microtech does have a vaccuum/boost nipple on it to connect to the mani. What about skins? Anyone here savvy enough to make some?

Ok for those wondering whats going on with this we are still working out some issues in regards to getting the microtech to handle some simple chores such as dome light ect......its comming soon I promise

Terry, by the way are you absolutely positive that the other stock electronics will not be effected by the replacement (ie: power windows, door locks, radio, dash, ect..)

Damn, I knew it:( Hang in there Terry we are all counting on you (how is that for pressure). You are the only one out there attempting this (full ECU replacement). I know you will get it figured out.

ECU does the duty of the dome light, the keyless entry, the odometer, you name it. . .so there is a lot to do if you want to "disable" the stock ECU.

I'll have to admit that 250 whp, makes those inconveniences less of a deal, but then you'll get used to the hp and the "little things" will return with a vengence!

Keep plugging Terry. . .I'm still waiting for "normal" operations to be resolved.

WHAT YOU EXPECT ME TO USE A KEY TO OPEN THE DOOR! :wtf: :'( :bs:

:D Keep up the good work.

the ecu doesn't handle the odo, if that were true, when people did ecu swaps, the milage would change also, but it doesn't.

Yes and No. . .at least to my understanding of it. You won't swap odometer readings when you swap ECUs as the ECU doesn't store the mileage, but without the ECU, the odometer will not work. That's what I was saying. . .the new unit would have to send a signal to work the electronic odometer. I could be completely off on this, but I don't think I am. . .anyway, minor point nonetheless. . .your "daily driver" is going to lose some nice features at this point. . .until they find a way to keep the stock ECU in place to do some of the "little things".

For the daily drivers, may have to end up keeping the stock ECU in to handle creature comforts and of course let the Microtech handle the fuel, ignition, and timing. Still by far a standalone, because essentially, the stock ECU is not needed for racing applications. Who cares if the dome light dims 30 seconds after the door is closed. Chances are , I won't even have a domelight.(drive)

Well...then a piggyback is the ideal solution for those who would like to keep those "little comforts" and also have a high performance machine when needed...

I dont know many of them besides the power locks, windows, lighting and cruise control*, but maybe you will notice (like Terry) the hard way: when installing the microtech and realize something is missing

*cruise control: Im 99% sure it will not work, since the MP3 does not comes with it.
