Microfiber towels at Wal-Mart?

Has anyone used the microfiber towels being sold at Wal-Mart. I just got my Protege and need to wash it and was at Wal-Mart to get some Meguir's products. I noticed that they had a 5-pack of microfiber towels for $4.98.

I forgot to look at what blend they were, but I'm going back later to check. I figure I'll grab a pack and give the old "rub a CD" test to see if their any good. If so, I've saved myself from having to order some. If not, I just return them.

I just wanted to see if anyone had used them and what they though.

The prices seem to vary quite a bit, even online, so I didn't know if they are "too" cheap to be good.

Thanks,
Ben

They are the best! Those towels work REALLY well and won't scratch your car at ALL! I use them to dry my car, to take off wax, and to wipe down the car... and nothing but good results.

I just bought another pack the other day!

Yeah, that's what I use. The microfiber for drying. The Lint-free ones thay have there are also great for windows.

The microfiber towels I buy at Wal-Mart are 70% polyester and 30% polyamide. They are the best! I use them with Meguiar's Quik Detailer Mist & Wipe. They work great and NO lint at all. Best find my wife has made since finding ME!!!!!!!!! LOL

I use them all the time and love them. I keep a dry one in the glove compartment for dust on the dashboard and it works wonders...
I use others for each step of the Zaino polish steps...works great.

Try gettting the "Absorber" to dry your car off, it's like a shammy but 100 times better. They sell them at AutoZone, and come in weird bright colors. Damn good!

I washed the car this morning and these towels are excellent. I've never used microfiber before, and now I wish I had some back when I used to wash my black Camaro. I would have saved me so much time.

Thanks for the tip on the Absorber. I saw those at Wally Mart last night too, but didn't know it they are any good. I don't know if I need it though. I just used four of the towels to get the car dry.

Not to thread jack, but while I was at Wal*Mart getting MF towels (thanks to the thread) I saw two variations of a California squeege. It looked to wide to be used just on windows so I assusme it was for the body as well. Has anyone tried one of these yet?

I got that too while I was there... i bought the california one (there's a generic one there too) and it's very good as well! That combo is the best... use the squeegy to get the water off, then use the towel to get all the drips... works wonders!

Did you buy walmart brand towels or Mequire towels?

WHat do you guys apply wax with?
What do you dry the car with?

I am still afraid to even wash my black P5

I wash the car with a 100% sheep skin mitt that I got from Walmart as well... and dry it with the squeege and microfiber towels. Then I use a wax applicator pad to put the wax on, and take it off with another MF towel...

I do the same as Coqui258 except without the squeege (for now) I use an asorber for the big water removal and now the microfibers for touch up and detailing. I haven't waxed my P5 yet (I have only had it for a month). But on my wife's van and previously on my Accord I used Maguire's Gold Class car wax (paste). It is clear coat safe and does a nice job. I even used the Maquire's wax applicator pads becasue they were about the same price as the generic type.

All i use is a shammy and a rag it always looks beutiful
(god help my spelling)

i use the eagle one micro fiber towels and they are awesome. id never used microfiber until i got this car and i wish i had known about these with previous cars.
