I wasn't sure if it would look good or not but I tried it. It looks pretty good for right now or untill someone makes a billet grill for the MP3. If anyone wants to know how to do it just let me know. It only cost $3.64 instead of $40 to $70 from AT Grills. You can make about 8 of them for only $3.64. Cheap huh! Here are the photos.http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/big_ben2121

Alright, go to Lowes or Home Depot. If you go the the masonry section, they should have the wire mesh, it's for stucko and stuff like that. It should cost only $3 to $5 for a 3X8 sheet. Mine was $3.64. If you dont have any tin snips buy those too.(about $7 to $10) Then buy some of the double sided foamy tape. I'm not sure what it's called, it's in the tape section. It's for the emblem. Oh yeah, and some galvanized wire to tie it on your grill. Use the paper that comes on the mesh to cut out a stencil. Just put it over your grill, and with a razor blade, slowly cut around the edge of the grill. Be carefull though or you will scrathe your paint. I did a little but you cant see it, it's a plastic bumper. Once you get the pattern, put it on the mesh and use the snips to cut out the grill. Then put it over the original and trim it so that it doesn't rub. When your satisfied with it, use about 10' pieces of wire to tie it on. Just bend one end like a hook, slip it through the grill, then with pliers, pull it through, and twist it untill it's tight. Trim the ties to about 1/2' after they are twisted, and bend them back. It doesn't look too great up close, but finish the job and step back. You'll see the difference. Oh yeah, the emblem just prys off, just do it slow so you dont break it. It has two little prongs that will go through the mesh back into their holes when you're done.

By the way, wish some one would make one of those billet grills. That would look great on this car. :D

Thanks man, im gonna see what of this crap my dad has sitting around the house in his workshop and then buy the rest....so the new grill just goes right over the old one right? And the things doesnt rock or bounce if its attached tightly enough?

Yep, just put it right over the original. I put wire ties about every 4 inches around the edges.

They cost $50 each. Just send me the money and I'll get them for you. Just kdding. I just got the 1-800 # from their website and called and asked for some. They sent them to me for free. Nice of them. I told them I had the MP3 and wanted to advertise for them. My Racing Beat stickers are on the way too. I figure red ones will look nice right under the MP3 badge on each side. ;)

Hey Ben, how did you paint the letters on the engine cover? That looks really sharp. Are there any tricks to this, or did you just simply take a brush and paint them?

For the lettering, all I did was put one strip of masking tape over the letters. Then cut out around the edges with a craft knife. You can use a box cutter or any razor blade. Just follow around the edges of the letters. then peel them off and push the tape down so theat it is sticking the the base of the cover and not the letters. Once you start doing it you'll see what I'm talking about. Then tape off the rest of the cover so that only the letters are showing. Then I just used spray paint, about 3 coats. I used a hair dryer to harden and dry the paint so that it would dry faster. I'm impatient. Just make sure you let it dry before you peel the tape off. ;)

I just replaced them. You can get the silicon hoses from JC Whittney, or your local Auto Zone, or anything similar. The wire looms I got from JC Whittney. You can get them from any automative site, They were just cheaper at JC Whittney.
