I assume the factory EGR pipe does not reconnect to this manifold?

thats correct. at least for now. My manifold does NOT utilize the EGR.

However, unless you have emissions its no big deal. I've already been throwing the P0104 code (EGR flow insuff) and its done nothing to performance- OK so I can't burn the unburnt gases on startup, but thats it. Once the car warms, there really isnt a need for EGR besides for emissions purposes.

Guys..you should read up..on the egr..thing..

Definition: The EGR valve is the main emissions control component in the exhaust gas recirculation system. The valve is located on the intake manifold, and opens a small passageway between the exhaust and intake manifold to allow a metered amount of exhaust to flow back into the engine. This reduces combustion temperatures and helps control the formation of oxides of nitrogen. The EGR valve is opened by the application of vacuum to its control diaphragm. Some also require a certain amount of exhaust back pressure before they'll open. On newer vehicles, the valve is electronic and uses one or more solenoids or a small stepper motor. The valve should remain closed while the engine is cold and at idle. It should only open once the engine has warmed up and is running at part-throttle. If the valve sticks shut (or is disconnected), NOX emissions will soar and detonation will often result (See Detonation and Spark Knock). If it sticks in the open position or fails to close all the way, it acts like a vacuum leak resulting in a rough idle, hesitation and possible stalling.

just ordered up my "pieced together" kit today (though truthfully it's like 95%, just missing the accessories and hardware i already have but who's counting!?? ;) ). can't wait! thanks again beau!

:) Ok so now which one of you is gunna go out there and get some track runs in and vids with these kits installed? I'd love to see a thread started for MAM track times and such. As soon as I get my new clutch I'll be running mine :)

Will the MAM SS kit satisfy emissions standards? I recall reading earlier in this thread that the intake manifold currently does not utilize the EGR pipe/line. Will it? If it doesn't, is there a hack way to satisfy emissions?

TIA

The Gen 1 kits' do not have EGR.The Gen 2 does.We are finishing up a few of those Manifolds now.So to answer your question, yes it will have EGR hookup.

How much will it cost us to get the manifold that hooks up the egr tube?

If you want me to upgrade(EGR) your mani I will.It will take another 1-2 weeks to get it finished.
Otherwise you would have to buy a new mani and that is $349.

Since i'm missing a few pieces, do you want me to just send mine back to you whil eyou sort that all out?

i dunno but i have never gotten a CEL cause of the egr or failed emissions because of the EGR. been running it for about year and a half and and 15k miles. no problem related to egr not beigned connected. i dunno why is so important.
