i had a feeling they wouldn't be similar internally at all.

i wonder where i can source some powercaps here in the states. i don't think they are sold here.

they look nice, but i have no faith in capacitors especially not small ones. i *might* see if i can get my hands on a large carbon one, or one of the newer hybrid ones for testing.

i do believe caps have a place in car audio. with a sufficient electrical system, caps DO serve a purpose. they will tend to flatten the input voltage to your amp. fluctuations become minimal and amp output power will be maintained. that's my experience anyway. i actually did a test on a vr2000d i installed on a yukon. did a wattage test with and without caps. the test with the caps yielded more stable output from the amp. i guess the heavy voltage fluctuations did harm output. we had 2 12" L7s and a single yellowtop out back. we played music and a couple of test tones.

the one thing i DON'T condone, is using caps to "improve" your electrical system.

i do believe we have a winner caps do help when the alternator is large enough to support the system. but once you get to the point where the alternator cannot supply anymore current and you are relying on battery power, a cap is totally worthless. they actually hurt more than help i'm guestimating my 3 DLS amps are going to draw around 180 amps for daily use with the sub at 4 ohm. my truck only has a 70 amp alternator hopefully it will be easier to change out a nissan alternator than a 3rd gen mazda one

i sourced a place to get some spl dynamics, but it's gonna be like SUPER expensive... and can take MONTHS. i asked him about the 5 channel and he said it would be around 1.5-1.6k. i hate that euro exchange rate...

looks like nexxon is bringing SPL dynamics here to the states(nana)

no way man, that's crazy as hell... i donno if i should trust nexxon tho. they don't stock like 75% of the products they list. it's wierd. some of the guys at caraudio.com had problems with them sending stuff that was listed. but now that they are available here... NOW what do i do? should i go with the spl dynamics???

scott is offering 10% of DLS equipment through the end of october that would lower the price from $1078 on the A4 and A6 down to about $970
