ok guys so i know there are like hundreds of post of how to install manual boost controllers but am having some misunderstanding on the capping off on the vacuum inlets... first of all i have a 08 MS3 and am trying to find out exactly what am supposed to plug and what am i supposed to use to connect to the manual boost controller?! Am using a Turbo XS MBC and yeah i did find some weird diagram of how to install but not very detailed.
Please any help would be appreciated!!!!
(I'm planning to boost 18 =)....)

what sort of issues :'( and ok so i just cap off the small port on the WG which is the easiest one to get to and run the MBC to the big hose which is that the bottom of the WG and run the other side of the MBc to my BOV.... perfect thank you so much I'm going to try this weekend and install it. Oh by the way I have a CS FMIC and Turbosmart BOV....Any shortcuts with that?

Major spiking, uncontrolled boost, creep etc. as issues. Usually happens on downpipe/testpipe cars.

I hope your "BOV" is actually a "BPV" (bypass valve) which recirculates the air back into the intake tract or you're gonna have all kinds of driveability issues with that.

lol am sorry am ment to say BPV lol . . . well its a 50/50 Turbosmart and ok well i hope i dont hit to many of those issues and if i do then ill just play it safe and just got back to stock boost controller

f#ck, stock EBC sucks ass. MBC unlocks full boost in low gears (which is freaking hilarious) and gives instantaneous boost response, which is, similarly, hilarious. Just do the MBC like I say, either tap the cold or hot or use the quicktap, man up and enjoy the ride.

Sorry, I've been tucking into the Bacardi 151 so, my tolerance for girly-man-ness has declined....(spin)

Oh, my poor english doesn't give me the full impression of your advice, Darth Vader :)
I'm interested in the topic too. Now I have standard stock EBC and looking for a way to improve my drive feeling. Looks like you have some great experience in it and I hope it would help me also.
As I got you, you suggest to install just MBC (not with remote display, like greddy or hks, which is not cheap by all means, but just small device on the compressor) and it will rule. Right?

The one that finally worked for me was the Turbosmart Boost T, hooked to the intake manifold at the bypass valve hose and the big nipple on the wastegate actuator.

The reason I did this was, I had a downpipe, I got excited, added a race pipe in place of the second cat and, suddenly had spiking and boost creep all over the place.

Now I hold a maximum of 17.8 psi, depending on ambient air temp, with the valve fully open so, I can't trun the boost down but, at least it's controlled.

Listen to Darth. He's got the experience on this issue, both past experience with mbc's (as do I) and unique experience with this mbc on this platform at this mod stage (which I do not). I've waited just about as long as I can to take the step to MBC but think I'm finally there. No boost creep, but lots of hard, quick spikes to 20-21, settling to 17-18 and lots of fuel/load cut, especially in cold/cool weather.

So, my next move is the upgrade fuel internals and install the Turbosmart "Tee." I can easily go back to the stock ECU if I don't like the way the mbc works on my particular set of mods. My only worry is not being able to dial boost down any further than he has. I'd like a rock solid 17.0, but if it will hold no higher than 17.8, then I think I'm ready to take the plunge.

Thanks, Darth, for making the learning curve on this a little less steep for the rest of us.
