MBC install Problems

03 MSP.
Well i got in the mail today, the MBC that is going on my friends MSP.
Went over to install it, and when i was taking off the hose to the BPV, i took the hose clamp off, and began working it off the plastic nipple. The nipple Snapped off of the i/c pipe.....

I got the MBC installed after that, with no problem, other than taking the wastegate hose all the way off and totally replacing it, but that was no big deal.

Back to the main point. It seemed to just be glued on to the pipe... very bad construction. The superglue is drying on it now, and hopefully will hold it in place until i get my hard pipes and we can put my pipe on his car, or he can get a set of hard pipes made.

I was real pissed, and just wanted to warn everyone else that this could happen... that hose hadnt ever been off and was kinda stuck on there i guess, and it was very hard to get off, even after it was broken!

be careful!!!

It's been rumored it's an old RX-7 BPV. I don't think I've read on here where anyone was absolutely sure, though.

a FD BPV will fit on, but its not the same part number...

And i was taking the hose off to get the wastegate hose, it was all hard and cracking when i was putting the mbc on, so we just removed it.

The superglue seems to be holding... but its not fully set yet... so who knows if this will work.

That heat in the engine bay is going to totally eat up that superglue.

The part number is the same. We checked at the life meet in LA on a 94 touring rx-7 and a 03.5 msp.

The nipples on the pipeing are very weak. Broke a few while putting on the turbo kit. we tryed all kinds of glue to fix but none really work. The BPV is a stock Mazda part from the europen market Pro. So is the entercooler. It was Mazdas way of keeping the price down. Just in case you were wondering who I am ? If you got you car in the southeast region it was me who built it. Or one of the other guys at AMPORTS we process Mazda cars. did get to talke to the guys at Callaway nice guy .So if there is any qusetions fell free to drop an E-mail at sheffe4479@comcast.net I well try to answer as many as I can. These is a bad ass car. Do not let any body teel you differnt.

FUNRS..since you've had a hand in building MSP's, maybe you have some insight into this:

There have been many different opinions about what the HP the stock internals can handle...what's your take?

Sorry it took so long for me to get back. The people at Callay said the had the black one well over 210 HP. But thay wenert to sure on the trans. Thay took the car to a few SCCA solo 2 comp and did pretty good.I think the interanls well handel at laest 9 to 11 psi. But keep an eye on the air fuel mix. Is there any one who has found a way to defate the fuel cut. Or maybe trick the ECU s boost senser. For you guys /gals who have the 3.5s look at your airdams and rear skirt to see if the double sided tape is stiking. I belive Mazda well fix it for you.

and the question still remains, why were you taking the hose off the BPV?

to get better access to the wastegate, so i could take that hose off and replace it with a new one...

and JB weld saved the day... that stuff rules. :)

the FD BPV i had one had a different part number, it was off a 93 Base model. and i have an 03.
Look the same, fit the same, the FD was brown, and mine is black..

I got my car in the southeast in July, so you probably had a hand in building it. Thanks :)

Hmmm I have the 03 also, maybe the rx-7s used different bpv per year/trim? Mine is also black.

Btw am i being confused with someone else? I never built a msp!
