I just read this in AutoWeek Magazine

Mazda is reportedly assembling a 256hp Mazdaspeed performance version of the Mazda 3 hatchback. The car will use the same 2.3 liter turbocharged four cylinder that powers the Mazdaspeed 6 sedan but loses 18 hp and more then likely won't get big brothers all-wheel drive. Look for the MazdaSpeed 3 to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

yeah no awd has been the rumor for a while now.... though i would love to see what hiboost could do with that direct port 2.3l....sure it would be amaizing... i would think 450+ with some forged internals... hoping it comes with a lsd and some stiffer engine mounts, so then mazda speed could sell them to us regular 3 guys...
