Mazdaspeed3 Price OTD

I bought a 2008 GT just yesterday for 24,150 OTD in NJ. Taxes here are 7%. and I was only able to get that price using online price quotes. Before I even stepped in the dealership, I had done most of my negotiation via email.

That looks about right for a fair price on a gt. Slaes taxes are about the same here so I should try to get about what you payed then as well.

I did the same thing with email. Made the whole process painless. In and out of the dealership in an hour.

I paid about $21,600 OTD price on a sport that had over 200miles on it. Price before taxes and fees was $19,939.

The dealer pays $20800 from the factory and gets a 2% kickback from the factorywhen the sale is complete. So 20800X.02 = $416 kickback. so 20800-416=$20384. So you are telling me that the dealer lost $445 dollars(20384-19939) to sell you a "specialty vehicle" and subtract the kickback from your cost?

The only way it remotley makes sense is that it was the last 07 they had and it had 240miles on it and they said that it was their test drive mule. It blew my mind too. I saw it on the dealer website listed for 20,435 I called about it an asked what the total would come to so I could cut them a check in the correct amount. Dude calls me back with an even lower price of 19,939! So I am like cool, that will work. All the 08 models had normal asking prices that were msrp so this was just an odd ball I guess.

You guys are still talking about this? Christ move on. Scan the deal he got, wow who cares.

I paid $20k for my MS3 GT (every option but nav.) out the door but I got the deal of the century.

Hey was that Dealer near a Wendy's??? If it is. I checked out that car in January when I was down there on Vacation. It just confirmed my need for the speed3. I got one a few weeks later in Mass.

Isn't that fairbanks mazda? It's out near the sanford dog track.

Mazda and Subaru of Thousand Oaks were closing their doors, had a CBM '08 Sport without any options that they were going to have to give back to the factory if they didn't sell. $22,500 was the sale price, I put $15k down and financed the rest.

Wasn't the greatest deal (especially compared to some people in this thread), but around here nobody was willing to do anything on price so it was the best I could do. OTD was around $24k I think.

Mine is still in Japan being made. :) Waiting on my 8.5 Gray Mica MS3 Sport with Auto-Dimming Compass mirror (non-Homelink). OTD is $23,800. The car itself is $22,057. It was the best price I could get, even on an in-stock car.

You are not gonna get a great deal by pre ordering I found that out quick.

My 08 MS3 GT for

invoice plus 500.00 or $23,887.00. MSRP was 24,700. Plus tag transfer (I have my own tag) and sales tax. That is it, no gimmicky dealer fees. I thought I did pretty good.

No other dealer in Miami would touch it or negotiate. They would want full MSRP-- take it or leave it

yeah same here in San Diego the dealer wanted msrp take it or leave it so i said **** it and did it. my 08 sport was 25k and change otd paid in cash. too much i thought but I'm only 19 so not much negotiating power with those pricks

most dealers within a 75 mile radius of riverside, CA
still have anywhere from a 2-5k markup on the cars.

my cousin (visited for a week down here in socal )just bought a 08 SSgt for msrp and had it shipped to oregon where he lives. all the dealers around him had the same markup and would not budge.

08 GT no options, I paid sticker.

Most of the dealers here in Denver are still marking them up over sticker.

I shopped a couple local dealers, most finally agreed to MSRP. The killer was my trade in, an 04 Mazdaspeed Miata with 33k

I was offered as low as $12k, and as high as $14k. I figured I could get $15k on ebay, so I talked the dealer to $14,500 and they agreed.

When you figure I saved money on the ebay fees, plus I don't have to pay any tax on that $14,500, it works out well.

I put $4100 down on top of my Miata, which I owned outright, so I only financed $7200 and some change.

Unfortunately, Miata's have TERRIBLE resale value. They're a dime-a-dozen and not an easy car to to sell. I went through the same thing about 4 years ago with my '99 Miata when I traded it in on an S2000.
