Mazdaspeed Protege Blow Off Valve question

hey concept
all this happened not because of BOV (i dont have one yet, just the factory bypass), but because of a cone intake.

also is the factory bypass adjustible?

Only thing i think of is if there was possible leak in the intake and something wasn't being metered properly? Most of the mods included in my transformation on the MPS have been removing the box. the rubber insert that goes into the factory air box, fit inside of the aftermarket cone filter and was just added to the factory MAF sensor to make up for the difference in size. a small hole drilled with a UNI-bit i believe 5/16 (but you may want to double check that), hole for the A/T sensor in the center of a cone filter with the filter portion inside as well. Then i was able to remove 3.5-4.0'' of tape to re-route the take out for the plug then retapped it to look factory again (old career job habit). never had a problem done quite a few all the same way. as far as adjustability for the factory i'm sure i speak for everyone here "we wish".

OK.........
went back to the place where they did my intake.

Got a hot air shield made just for K&N filters (forgot the name).

ALSO described the problem to the mechanic and he said it's half/half. Half heat issue half movement of cone intake.

All of you who are going to install a cone intake U NEED A BRACKET TO HOLD IT IN PLACE.

Heat shield fixed the heat situation (it looks cool too!)
And the guy made a bracket to hold the intake.

DONE ! WORKS GREAT !
More power, way better sound!

the pic showed a couple of pages back is of my engine bay. I have to say, it appears that when the weather gets warm during the afternoon and the intercooler becomes hot i notice a huge drop in power. thats just a part of forced induction vehicles, weather its s/c or turbo, your going to loose power in any forced fed car. A heat shield will benefit the motor though, good call on that one bro.
