hello all,

I am thinking about getting mazdaspeed parts for my protege5 and was wondering how they stack up to other aftermarket parts. Also i am wondering if the mazdaspeed parts that are offered will fit the protege5 because they are listed as theyl fit the protege but do not mention anything about the protege5...any ideas/thoughts? thanks

The reason why i am considering mazdaspeed is so i can keep my warrenty for the rest of the two years that is left on it. (bang) damn mazda and their strict warrenty policy.....

i had every thing from the MSP. shocks, springs, both sways and exhaust..both the springs and shocks are nice together, the shocks and after market springs are good to so long as you dont get to low, ther shock tube is about 1'' longer than the P5 ones.. the front sway is good, but not needed (my opinon).. the rear was nice too from the MSP.. works geat with the stock front P5 bar to get rid of that push, but youll will need the rear subframe from the MSP with it or buy brackets from AWR to fit the MSP bar..(like $40)... i got ther bigger 21.5 mm ADJ rear bar.. this has been the best investment yet!! you will be happy with the MSP parts.. ther good, not the best but they will get the job done and the car will be balanced very well, plus keeping that warrenty...

mazdaspeed parts

Well mazdaspeed offers a lowered spring kit, a retuned struts kit, a stabilizer bar kit, strust tower bar kit, and a sport exhaust. Pretty much i want to get all except the exhaust cause i beleive its just a muffler? But the mazdaspeed catalogue says its for the protege but does not mention the protege5 and i was wondering if itl fit in my car as well? any ideas? id like to go all out mazdaspeed as well but if it wont fit my car and i cant ill have to wait 2 more years lol....does anybody know? thanks

WHy spend the TOND of money on mazdaspeed stuff form a catalog when you can get it for a fraction of that righ there on the forums? TONS of MSP owners are selling off their old parts when they move to new ones.

As far as compatibility, MSP's are longer and have a slight different rear suspension geometry, so the suspension is not direcly cross compatible, and a MSP exhaust will stick out about 6" from a P5's bumper.

compatability

So your saying the mazdaspeed parts offered for our car wont fit the protege5? I just wanted to know that before going futher into getting mazdaspeed parts for my car. And good idea about the members selling parts thanks....I was just wondering if the parts offered my mazdaspeed would fit the protege5 i dont know if the parts offered from mazdaspeed is what they use in the MSP or not but I was wondering on where to go next with my project.

The Mazdaspeed exhaust that Mazda sells is just that a muffler. I have one and really like the sound of it. Didn't notice much of a HP gain or gas mileage gain either. It looks better than the P5 stock pencil dick pipe and sounds much better.

The exhaust on the MSP is actually racing beat. The springs are also racing beat I believe. A friend just put the racing beat springs from a MP3 onto his 03.5 P5 and it dropped the car about an inch and made the ride so much better in the corners. Not as good as my eibachs if I do say so my self.

If you really want to make a MAZDASPEED Protege 5 then search the junk yards and find a totlaed one. Then swap out the engine, turbo, ECU, limited slip diff, seats, guages, springs, struts etc.

mazdaspeed

Well the thing is i dont want the mazdaspeed engine i just want to know what from the mazdaspeed catalogue fits in the protege5 because it says its for the protege....and i was wondering it all fits or only springs and struts or what. I am trying to see where to start my project from, because i have a few ideas and need to settle down on one, and want to keep the warrenty, thats why i wanna go mazdaspeed, but if nothing fits the protege5 (ugh) :'( but yeah i cant have it all, i wish i could. But thanks for all your help guys

springs and struts will fit the P5,, nice combo,, then if its not enough but the MSP rear swaybar and the brackets from AWR.. this will help alot... buy every thing used, youll save alot of your money ...the exhaust is nice,, moved the power band up a little so that you can turn the cars rpm to redline and it keeps building power.. heres a pic of mine after i had the tip cut off and shorted to fit the P5,, other that that its a straight bolt on axle back....

the bracket from AWR is same as the adjustable AWR endlinks? Where can i buy that? also, where can i buy the MSP rear subframe?

Bracket and endlinks are two different items. To install the larger bar on a P5, you need the brackets.
