I've never seen pics of the iON intake...it looks like a CAI, only it just barely goes through that hole on the right, not all the way like a CAI. Am I wrong or is it a SRI?

Dexter - for us to know, and you guys to find out ;) :D j/j Actually several reasons why it sits there. (1) Minimize the likely hood of direct water ingestion (2) Uses the fender part as a "shield" for water and dirt. (3) low pressure area, thus inducing air flow in the direction we desire.

We have other safety mechanisms against water ingestion as well, however those deal with the actual piping design etc.

Why is everyone flaming? If this has been posted before this is the first I've seen of it. Thanks! Sometimes things need to be said twice or even three times...

I know I'm nitpicking, but wouldn't you want the intake near a high pressure area?

MrDiggler<SCRIPT type=text/javascript> vbmenu_register("postmenu_777147", true); </SCRIPT> - not sure if you're versed in fluid mechanics. However, fluids will move from high pressure to low pressure areas. Since the compressor wheel's motion will always produce a "vacuum", having the filter in a low pressure area helps to promote orderly airflow into the compressor wheel.

That issue of Turbo Magazine is from a month or two ago. That alone was posted when it was first seen on newsstands. There is also a Group Buy thread for the exact intercooler set-up;)
Jack, you didn't get my money order yet?

No big deal...I was just asking:p The guy at the post office is the one who told me it would Monday or Tuesday at the latest. Maybe I'm being a little over cautious, but then again, I have $995 floating around in the mail(nervous)

It looks like Turbo Magazine installed the IC over to the right a little. It doesn't look centered at all. (scratch)

Anyone have other ion pics to compare their install ?

I don't think I've ever noticed except for this article ...
