Mazdaspeed 6 UPDATE + Check pg 5 for detailed PICS!

Easy guys...it goes both ways. Some people like to testdrive cause they could and wanted some mypage picts for their page. Then thers me who had money to throw $7-$8K down and wanted to by a car I knew more about than the dealer but no test drive was aloud unless I was serious. If someone has their car appraised and goes thru the process of finding out what they owed on it that should have shown enough intrest.

i have been lucky enough to test drive all the car I wanted too before I bought the speed.
All but one, mustang GT.
They wanted a refundable 200 dollars deposit to drive it. I did leave it and the car did not get there. So I got my money back and I never drove in.
I am actually happy since I love my little MSP.

The only dealership that was concern about how I drove the car was the subaru one and they told me do not go over 4000 rpm.

I test drove an srt4 twice and the first time the salesman told me "go as fast as you want because I have ride on one and I want to know how it goes". i told me come back in march and i will sell it to you for 14000 after discount and trade in.

I went back and he wasn't there anymore (boom07)

Yes, you sound like you qualified yourself as a serious customer, that dealer made a mistake.

nope I was able to test all the subies except the used blue STi I wanted cause it was being prepped. Drove the Stang GT as well but felt the Marauder was more my style and insurance rate. I basicly drove all cars I intended to buy except the SRT-4. I didn't go up for speed 6 only cause of MSRP and insurance. Just for the record I was looking for a used 6s but nobody had 1. white base model 6i atx are all I found

This is hilarious, I think all of you need to assess the dealerships that you are going to. I'm a 22 year old college student and I was able to take a MS6 out for a test drive a month ago, no problem. If a dealership doesn't realize that everyone is a prospective buyer, especially these days, then they deserve to lose sales. The salesperson even came with me and I was doing 110 on a major highway, she couldn't care less, knowing that if I was ever going to buy one of these, that I needed to actually test drive it, not granny-drive it.

I'm 22 and the dealerships that did let me test drive told me to stop babying it. The nissan dealer hit 75 on a 30 mph strip before turning the car over to me to drive. Granted I told him I thought the used mustang GT they had on the lot was faster then the 3.5 V6 prior to this lol. The mazda dealerships around here are willing to let you drive the demo speed 6. I wish it was the same for you guys who seriously want the speed 6 and driving it was your last deciding factor before buying. Yes mazda 3 you're right, assuming everyone of a certain age group are all the same kills potential sales. The dealer bragged about alot of people walked out not cause they had to buy it to test drive but cause they weren't willng to buy it afterwards.

I'm 31, no kids. Have home, good career.

The only time I have ever been turned down or what I should really say is given the runaround was when I went to test the MS6. I have test driven a lot of cars over the years. Nowadays I don't test something unless I want it. Just no time to waste driving cars I don't really want. But even when I was 17, i got to drive anything I wanted. I've always looked a little older.

Anyway Lip, I"m not an auto dealer, I just no alot of people in the business at all levels. You are whats refered to as a "professional test driver". I would guess every salesman at every dealer in your area knows who you are. Its doubtful there would be a salesman in the showromm for you to laugh at before you walk out because they probably all scatter when you drive up. They know you are there to waste someone's time driving a car you have no interest in buying. You probably read about a new car and then figure you should go try one out, even though you have no intention of buying one.

Actually, I only test drive vehicles for myself when I am going to buy a car or when someone who is going to buy a car asks for my help (my dad for instance).
You are welcome to believe what you want but I wish we had more customers like you at my company who are willing to take it in the a** without questions...

To each his own I guess...

I don't understand what the big deal is. I am the Internet Sales Manager for a Ford/Nissan dealer and we LOVE to have people come in the door to test drive. I would invite ANYONE to test drive a car. Understand though a saleman will try and close you on the car. (deadhorse

I fell in love with the Mazda3 when I testdrove it. That is the car that I am saving up for now, and the test drive is what sealed me on the deal.

Euro Mazda MPS pics.

Nice Euro pix.........

Thanks....
I see differences in the interior and I like the headlight washers plus that neat 'MPS' on the decklid!

Hi all....I was viewing this thread to see what issues you all were having with your engines. I am hoping to get the Mazda CX 7 which has a modified MSP 6turbo engine in it. I hear lots of issues so I am a bit nervous. Will Mazda figure things out? It seems it's the same issues over and over and some similiar to the RX 8 which I own and now I hear they are replacing many 04 and 05 engines. Well, now I am sure the hubby will be very leary of getting a CX 7 for me now....Argh. I really want the CX 7 and if I do end up getting it I will be hearing "I told you so"about it forever. Love Mazda's but now very concerned. I may end up with the 5 which is nice but not the caliber of the CX 7 or MSP6!!! Good luck to all of you with your new cars!!

What issues are you referring to? They quickly fixed things on the MSP6, the loss of power reflash, and even the later model change in the clutch. Also they're not replacing many engines in the RX-8, its mainly automatic ones that never see more than 3-4k rpm, if you have a manual and it sees 9.5krpm, i dont think it is a problem at all =d. And cars getting new engines are probably less than 1% of all RX-8s.

I test drove the CX-7, it is def a nice vehicle, and since Mazda is putting the same engine in many of their cars, 4 in total, they'll have better support on it. Hack they even support the rotary! look at toyota/honda, they blame the factory defects on the customers, mazda is replacing ur engine for free if you have a bad one.
