Mazdaspeed 3 + Snow = ????

I was in the appalachian mountains of West V in a bad snowstorm. I put snowtires on the car in late november and drove cautiously and had no problems.

i drive in it all the time. from my prevoius car (6) i had a spare set of sport 17" wheels added some blizzaks. it's no where near as good as my 6 in the snow...that car was a tank...but it definately gets the job done.

i dont know, but the regular 3s hatch sucks in the snow because the stock tires are garbage. again, im talking about the 3s hatch and NOT the ms3.

Ms3 in snow is fine as long as you have a set of winter tires. The factory tires are garbage in the snow. Like any car you should have a set of summer and winter tires to best your performance and just plain SAFTEY.

The stock tires that come with the MS3 are highly rated on Tirerack...but those are strictly Max-Performance *SUMMER* tires. Only problem I have with them is the road noise. In the snow, they suck bawlz. Hell, I'd rather drive my 00 Mustang GT in the snow with the Pirelli P Zero Nero M+S's than the MS3. Well...maybe not :p

I've got Bridgestone Potenza 960 pole position all seasons on my car and it does fine in light snow. Snow tires would be even better, I'm sure. Tires make all the difference, not the car.

well looks like I'll get some snow tires when I pick up the vehicle then!

^I'm here in Denver... When are you picking yours up and from what dealership? Color? I pick up my Silver MS3 Sport on March 15 from Gateway Mazda.

Drove through the snowy mess in PA/NJ this past Sunday without a problem with performance winter tires.

I can recommend NOT getting Winterforce tires. They work well in the snow, but they're soft as hell. Get a nice set of Blizzaks or other performance-rated snow tire.

manual tranny ftw!

I have a set of Pirelli Pzero Nero M+S, and my MS3 handles great in the snow. ^_^

Most people in NoVA are terrible at driving in the snow, and I just shake my head whenever I see someone driving an automatic burning their tires (flame) in the snow looking as though they're doing a dyno run. It's so nice to be able to control the power going to the wheels via the manual transmission. *^_^*
